After years of waiting, the latest Bayonetta game is finally here. Players can once again hack and slash mutants as the glasses-wearing witch, but is there Bayonetta 3 multiplayer? It's a great way to keep a game in the public eye, and fans want to know if this trilogy-closer has co-op gameplay in mind.
In this Bayonetta 3 guide, we'll go over everything you need to know about its multiplayer. That includes whether the game has multiplayer at all, on top of any co-op features that may be lingering. Neither of the previous games let you play with friends, but that could all change with this new entry.
Elsewhere, check out some Roblox codes for plenty of freebies on the hit user-generated platform. We've also got some Project Slayers codes and Shindo Life codes, for two massive anime-inspired games. Of course, if you want to stick to Nintendo, you can check out our Pokémon Unite tier list!
Does Bayonetta 3 have multiplayer?
Unfortunately, Bayonetta 3 does not have a multiplayer component. The latest story involving the iconic witch is one that can only be played solo.
However, since all other games in the trilogy have also been relegated to solely single-player gameplay, this doesn't come as too much of a surprise.

When you get to the game's main menu, you won't find any matchmaking options or places for you to invite friends to a lobby, or even to play via split-screen with two JoyCon controllers. As such, it seems unlikely that multiplayer of any form will ever arrive in Bayonetta 3.
It will no doubt disappoint some players, however. Recent Nintendo games like Kirby and the Forgotten Land added co-op multiplayer to run through the entire story with friends. Rather than becoming a standard for all narrative-based Nintendo games, it still appears to be a case-by-case system.
Is there co-op in Bayonetta 3?
Equally, there isn't any sort of co-op mechanic to let you run through the story mode of Bayonetta 3 with a friend. That is slightly more surprising, given the introduction of a new playable character called Viola.
She's a less experienced witch compared to Bayonetta herself, and has a different set of moves and weapons to take on the Homunculi hordes. PlatinumGames could have harnessed this to have one player controlling Bayonetta and one as Viola, but that hasn't happened.

Of course, any future Bayonetta 3 DLC could well add a multiplayer component such as this. We'll have to wait and see - but for now, if you're buying Bayonetta 3, be ready to play solo.
