In every FPS game, the optic you use plays a major role in improving your weapon’s accuracy—Black Ops 6 is no different. Another factor influences the said attribute, though, and that’s a reticle. They’re the crosshairs shown on your weapon’s optic when you aim down sight.
In Black Ops 6, there are ten reticles to choose from. Each has a unique ring to it, influencing your aiming abilities significantly. To unlock them, though, you must complete certain challenges. Curious to learn more? Here’s a detailed guide explaining the Reticle Challenges System in Black Ops 6.
Reticle Challenges in Black Ops 6
Reticle Challenges have been a part of gun customization in Call of Duty games for quite a while. This year, too, things aren’t any different. With Black Ops 6 released, we see a variety of customizable reticles make a return.
To be precise, there are 10 to choose from, though you must complete a set of challenges to access them.
Before diving deep into what these challenges are, here’s how you access Reticles in Black Ops 6:
- Select Gunsmith.
- Navigate to the Customizations Tab. Locate the Reticles Tab from there.
- Once done, you can view the reticles you’ve already unlocked. You can also check the progress you’ve made for the locked ones. This helps you set a goal to unlock your desired reticles.
You must attach an optic to your weapon before following the steps above.
How to Unlock Reticles in Black Ops 6?
Unlike other challenges that sometimes push you to the limit, the Reticle Challenges are fairly easy and relatively straightforward. You’re not required to sweat, nor are there multiple objectives to accomplish.
All you have to do is gain a particular amount of Aim Down Sight (ADS) kills with the optic for which you want to unlock a reticle, so you can say that these challenges are time-dependent rather than purely skill-dependent.
Now that you know the challenges to complete, there are some key points to remember.
- If you’ve unlocked a reticle for a particular optic, it will automatically be available for all weapons using the same optic. For instance, unlocking a reticle for Reflex Sight on XM4 will unlock the same reticle for Reflex Sight when used on an AK74.
- Black Ops 6 brought back the famous Prestige System, and if you’ve played CoD before, entering a Prestige Level automatically resets your level to Level 1. It also re-locks the weapons you unlocked before attaining the Prestige. The reticles you’ve unlocked aren’t affected—they remain accessible irrespective of the Prestige Mode.
