The XM4 is the first AR you unlock in Black Ops 6, and if you’ve played Warzone or previous titles, chances are good that you’ll be taken back by nostalgia. And just like nostalgia, the XM4 is better than ever. Packing negligible recoil with a great fire rate, this gun is one of the best AR weapons in Black Ops 6.
With a great gun, imagine what the right build would do—and if that’s why you’re here, look no further.

This completes the build for XM4.
Details of the XM4 Build
Here’s the thing: XM4 without a build already has numerous advantages—especially the negligible recoil. Put on the correct attachments, and this build is absolute fire. Here’s a brief rundown of the XM4 build for BO6.
Starting with the Kepler Microflex, this optic is considered the old classic reflex sight from Warzone and previous CoDs. Apart from nostalgia, it gives excellent accuracy and line of sight.
The Muzzle attachment slot is left empty for this build. But if you’re an AR player who likes to play streaks, prefers a laid-back style of play, or hops onto the Core Playlist, then you can rock a Suppressor on this build as well. In that case, the Fire Mods will have to go.
The Long Barrel is an excellent option for this build since it increases the gun’s firepower. In particular, enhancing the Damage Range. With the fire rate of this weapon already packing, pairing it up with an increased Damage Range is nothing short of deadly. Aesthetically, it brings back the old M16/M4 vibes from the OG CoDs.
Next up is the Magazine. While the XM4's starting ammo size is 30 rounds, it’s considered short for intense situations. In that case, we’ve equipped the Extended Mags 1, which gives the XM4 a total of 45 rounds without any detriments in the Reload Speed.
The Light Stock encourages Mobility. In particular, the Movement Speed and the Crouch Movement Speed increased by 22 and 35 percent, respectively. So, if you’re an AR player who likes to rush-and-gun, this stock will let you do that (with much more efficiency.)
The last attachment to equip is the Recoil Springs. As the name suggests, they focus primarily on the Accuracy department of your weapon. Honestly speaking, XM4 already has excellent recoil control. Add more sauce to it with the Recoil Springs, and your aim with this weapon will just not miss.
In the Accuracy department, the Recoil Springs mainly focuses on the Recoil Gun Kick, the Horizontal, and the Vertical Recoil Control.
As mentioned previously, XM4 already has excellent recoil control. This is why we’ve equipped it without an Underbarrel or Rear Grip for this build.

- Movement Speed: 22% increase.
- Firepower: Increases significantly.
- Vertical Recoil Control: 15% increase.
