Counter Strike 2 system requirements

Some of Counter Strike 2's features have been kept a secret by Valve, and the game's system requirements have not been made public. If you can play Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) right now, you will likely be fine for the sequel, since the publisher is upgrading all current CS: GO players to Counter-Strike 2 as part of a free update.

Though it's likely that low-end PCs won't be able to enjoy the game due to a lot of changes that are being made. Below are the expected requirements for the game:

Recommended Requirements

  • A 64-bit OS, preferably Windows 10/11
  • Intel Core i5-2500K or an AMD FX-6300 processor
  • 8GB of RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or an AMD Radeon HD 7850 GPU
  • DirectX Version11

Counter Strike 2 changes

A few brief clips outlining upcoming improvements for Counter Strike 2 were released by Valve as part of the reveal. The next game has been dubbed the "largest technical leap forward" in the franchise's history by Valve in a blog post on Steam.

Counter Strike 2 will take advantage of all the functions and resources offered by the Source 2 engine. The new lighting system, reflections, and physics were added by Valve, while also upgrading some vintage maps and completely rebuilding others.

The company will additionally provide the community access to the Source 2 tools and rendering features. Users will be able to make maps of their own and test out new features thanks to this.

Moving, shooting, as well as grenade throwing are no longer reliant on the server's refresh rate thanks to a unique sub-tick framework that Valve built in order to improve the tick rate system for gameplay and user experience. Because servers will know the precise moment that motion begins and will calculate player actions between ticks, the game should become more responsive as a result.

Although the sub-tick update might seem like a small adjustment, if done as described by Valve, it could be one of the largest gameplay enhancements ever, especially for an online competitive FPS like Counter Strike.
