A post-campaign Exotic quest, the Destiny 2 Destined Heroes quest tasks you with going to the Lost City to confer with Ghost. With some awesome rewards attached, including the incredibly unique Ergo Sum Exotic sword, you’ll want to know how to complete the Destiny 2 Destined Heroes Quest to get the most out of The Final Shape expansion.

Destined Heroes is a much lengthier quest than The Heart’s Depth or Wild Card, but it comes with a brilliant reward for melee-focused players. As one of the many quests added in The Final Shape mission list, every Guardian should be looking to complete this lengthy task.

Destiny 2 Destined Heroes Quest Steps

To complete the Destiny 2 Destined Heroes quest, you must complete the following tasks:

  • Investigate the strange radio transmission in the Old Tower in The Lost City
  • Investigate Savathûn's Lucent Hive near the portal.
  • Speak to Micah-10 via her conduit in the Arbor of Light
  • Go to The Lost City and talk to Cayde-6
  • Go to the ledge of the Old Tower in The Lost City and speak with Ghost
  • Start the quests Lost in the Light and Found in the Dark
  • Investigate spikes in Taken energy in the Refraction
  • Go to The Lost City and speak with Ghost
  • Use the Dyadic Prism and enter the new landing zone in the Sacrarium
  • Claim your Destiny

While it's technically only a nine-step quest, Destined Heroes has many hidden objectives. In fact, you'll have to complete two quests, each being five steps long, during Destined Heroes, making it much longer than it at first seems. After completing these steps, however, you’ll be granted the mission’s Exotic reward.

Destiny 2 Destined Heroes Rewards

Completing Destined Heroes in Destiny 2 rewards you with the Ergo Sum Exotic sword. The Ergo Sum stats are as follows:

Swing Speed 40
Impact60
Stability0
Guard Efficiency0
Guard Resistance 0
Inventory Size15
Zoom0
Charge Rate30
Magazine35
Ammo Capacity39

The Ergo Sum Exotic also comes with the following Exotic perk:

  • Transcendent Duelist - This weapon collects less ammo but final blows accelerate Light and Darkness master. Furthermore, you deal increased damage while Transcendent and defeating targets extends Transcendence.

As for the other Exotic perk, well, that's actually randomized. You can earn multiple rolls of this weapon with the following perks available:

  • Gathering Light Trait: Final blows with this weapon grant stacks of Gathering Light, improving guard stats and lunge range. Stowing this weapon consumes all stacks, granting melee, grenade, and class ability energy.
  • Wolfpack Rounds Trait: Powered heavy attacks cause nearby sword-wielders to emit tracking missiles with every attack.
  • Sacred Flame Trait: Powered heavy attacks mark nearby targets, causing them to explode upon death. Striking marked targets with a Light attack detonates them.
  • The Perfect Fifth Trait: Every five hits attach a delayed Solar explosive, scorching your target.
  • Arc Conductor Trait: Powered heavy attacks charge the wielder, enabling them to resist Arc damage and chain lightning to nearby targets.
  • Stormbringer Trait: Rapid final blows create a lightning storm at the target's location.
  • Unplanned Reprieve: Powered heavy attacks emit projectiles that detonate with a delayed Void blast.
  • Insectoid Robot Grenades Trait: Defeated targets drop insectoid robots that chase and explode close to other targets.
