Rogue in Diablo 4 has possibly the highest skill cap of all the classes. With most Rogue players deviating towards a glass cannon play style with Twisting Blades, you have to rely on your movement skill usage to keep yourself alive.
Unlike other classes like Barbarians and Druid, which have a fair bit of sustain, you have very little defensive utility as Rogue. With the right gear, you will be able to take on some of the toughest foes in the game with ease with high-damage skills and potent debuffs.

Twisting Blade is your core DPS skill in this build, with massive piercing damage scaling. You want to use Smoke Grenades to apply the Dazed effect on enemies, and Shadow Imbuement will make your attacks deal Shadow damage.
Once you have the debuffs and buffs ready to go, you need to spam Twisted Blade on debuffed enemies and watch them get obliterated. Shadow Clone is the perfect Ultimate ability, as it creates your copy and mimics your actions for a short duration.

You want to get your hands on a Cowl of the Nameless, which can greatly improve your damage against debuffed enemies. Grasp of the Shadow is also a great legendary to have.
When it comes to your stats, you want to focus on dexterity, strength, and intelligence. Rogue’s crit chance is boosted by the intelligence stat, so you want to stack it at much as possible.
When adding gems, consider adding Rubies for energy regeneration and better skill cycling. Once you have enough energy regen, focus on slotting Sapphires for bonus damage against Slow and Dazed enemies.

To play the Rogue class optimally, you want to start every fight with debuffs on your enemies and deal damage to hordes of enemies. As soon as you use all of your high-damage skills and infect enemies, you want to relocate instead of staying in the thick of battle.
Rogues need to juggle between their abilities and use Twisting Blades off cooldown. As soon as you get Twisting Blades back up, you want to pierce through enemies and start moving to the next group of enemies.
This play style can be difficult to get accustomed to, especially in the early game when your damage output will not be high enough to one-shot some enemies. But once you get the right gear and upgrades, you will be able to mow through enemies with ease. Skilled Rogue players will be able to dash through enemies without taking a single hit.
