July 19, 2023: Now that season 1 is on the way, here's how to zoom out.

Wondering how to zoom out in Diablo 4? We've got you covered. With Diablo 4 out now, fans of the franchise continue to discuss a range of topics surrounding the game. Knowing how to zoom out gives you a much clearer view of the surrounding area and with a range of controls to master, it can prove tricky.

Some players feel good with the current selection of zoom-out options, while others want more to match those using high-resolution monitors. Thus, this topic affects everyone who plays Diablo 4.

Can you zoom out in Diablo 4? (Season 1)

At the time of writing, players can't zoom out in Diablo 4. Like its predecessors, Diablo 4 only has two zoom-out options: a close one and an extended camera view.

With this being said, there's a high chance most players will use the extended view as the only zoom out option. It allows players to get more information on their screen, which gives an advantage in both PvP and PvE scenarios.

How to zoom out in Diablo 4

With no way of zooming out in Diablo 4, there's no set way to perform this particular task. However, thanks to the in-game settings, you can increase your monitor aspect ratio for a better view of your surroundings.

The in-game settings allow an aspect ratio of 21:9 and higher if your monitor can handle it. If not, the game will look stretched and make it even harder to see what's going on.

Will zoom out appear in Diablo 4 updates?

Even though some fans want to scroll their mouse wheel and increase FOV in Diablo 4, the likelihood of a zoom out option appearing in a future update is slim.

Diablo 4 was designed with two FOV options. Adding extra settings would force the developers to adjust the UI to optimise it even further. While it sounds straightforward, it would be hard work and lead to long development hours. Combine it with the vocal opinions of the community, and there's every chance the feature is a recipe for disaster.

Previous Diablo games also didn't feature extra FOV options, another reason they won't appear in the game. Still, if zoom out is highly requested, there is a slight chance it will appear in Diablo 4 with updates.
