There's never a dull moment in Disney Dreamlight Valley. When you're not meeting your favourite characters from the movies, there's always a new resource to collect or refine. In this guide, we'll reveal all ore locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Coal and iron are the main resources you'll find in ore form, and the focus of this guide. Coal can be used to cook, craft, and smelt, while iron is useful for upgrading tools and is used in plenty of crafting recipes when smelted into ingots.

Where to get coal ore in Disney Dreamlight Valley
There are a few ways to get coal ore in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The simplest method will see players visiting Kristoff, where he has a chance of selling coal ore for five Star Coins each. You'll need lots of coal throughout the game, so be sure to pick up an inventory space upgrade to hold it all.
Players that prefer to gather resources by hand (or can't afford to spend all their money on coal) will need to destroy rock spots for a chance of getting coal ore. Coal can appear in any biome, so players won't need to go very far.
If you prefer to knock out two birds with one stone, it's worth knowing that coal ore can rarely appear as a reward for getting rid of Night Thorns. Keeping an eye out while exploring and keeping plenty of star coins to one side is the main advice for coal hunters.
Where to get iron ore in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Iron is used just as often as coal, and is an important resource in Disney Dreamlight Valley. You won't find it in the starting areas, so start gathering Dreamlight in the thousands and beating story quests to access the biomes listed below.
- Forest of Valor
- Forgotten Lands
- Frosted Heights
- Glade of Trust
- Sunlit Plateau
The Glade of Trust and Forest of Valor are recommended for iron hunters, as later areas have more resources to give, reducing your chance of getting iron. You should also hold a pickaxe while hunting for rocks to highlight any that are nearby, and patrol the edges of an area to find them easily.
To get iron ingots directly, Kristoff sometimes has them in stock, but ingots are expensive at 70 Star Coins each. The foxes in Frosted Heights can also reward players with ingots when they're fed a salmon.
