How to hover in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Pride of the Valley update is finally here. It introduces many features that have added more to the gameplay experience. Among these features, The Lion King realm and a Star Path packed with real Disney rides stand out, not to mention the arrival of Simba and Nala, which adds a whole new layer of excitement to the game. However, one of the best features of this update is a much smaller addition that players might overlook. Let’s find out how to hover in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

In addition to these new features, the update also addresses a common player complaint: navigation. Now, navigating around the valley is now much more efficient and quicker thanks to the new hovering or gliding feature. Previously, players had to run at a fairly slow pace around the valley in lieu of teleporting. Given the size of the world within Disney Dreamlight Valley, running from one side of the world to the other could be quite time-consuming.

But now, hovering is possible! For more details on the update of the Lion King realm, make sure to check out our other guides such as Disney Dreamlight Valley Twitch Drops - Date, streamers, and free items.

Disney Dreamlight Valley - how to hover or glide

With the addition of the gliding or hovering feature, players can now easily and quickly move around the valley with just a few simple steps. Gliding is a new and exciting way to explore the game world, and it's fairly easy to do once you know how. Despite the feature going by a few different names including glide, sprint, and hover, it's a great addition to the game.

The first thing you need to do to hover is to make sure that your energy bar is full. You will also need to have the "well-fed" bonus, which you can get only by eating.

Once the energy bar is full, players need to consume more food until the bar turns from its usual blue colour to yellow. This yellow colour indicates that the player is well-fed and ready to glide. Once the energy bar has any amount of yellow covering up the blue, the "sprint" option will then appear in the bottom-left corner.

To start gliding, players simply need to press and hold the correct button. The button required to initiate gliding may vary depending on the platform on which you are playing Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, players will know that they have successfully initiated gliding when they see the signature Dreamlight colours and sparkles appear around the ground as they move their character.

When you move your character around the world, sprinting will use up the yellow bar created by the "well-fed" bonus. So, you need to eat more food if you want to keep sprinting. Once the player’s bar goes back to its usual blue colour, the gliding ability will no longer be available, which is the one downside of the sprint ability.
