Entering this area is possible once you finish Taash’s quest, Lair of the Dragon King. You should know that you will run into some tough opponents along the way.

When you’re all set to go inside, expect a fierce clash with The Fury of Sharksmouth, a mighty demon.

Once you take down this boss, Warden Grey’s Final Repose comes to a close so that you can work on the puzzle in peace.

The puzzle is built around a locked Grey Warden tower guarded by four statues of legendary knights.

Clues for cracking the riddle are either etched onto the tower or written up all over the cave.

These clues recount the story of a battle in which four knights fought valiantly.

To unlock the treasure, rotate each statue in the correct direction to reflect the role each knight played on the battlefield.

Here’s what each part of the riddle means and how it relates to the statute positions:

  • Ser Dheon the Silent (Leftmost Statue): The knight lunged ahead with his sword, spearheading the attack. Position Ser Dheon’s statue to face forward.
  • Ser Ifean the Beloved of the Moon (Middle-Left Statue): As the shieldbearer responsible for defending the rear, Ser Ifean’s statue must be turned to face backward.
  • Ser Cruach the Wolf (Middle-Right Statue): This statue needs to face left, given its reputation for attacking the left flank of enemies with a hammer.
  • Ser Rian the Red (Rightmost Statue): An archer who rained arrows upon the enemy’s right flank, Ser Rian’s statue should be directed to the right.

Once each statue is aligned correctly, it will lock into place, and the door to the tower will open.

If you get confused, remember that the directions represent the knights’ positions relative to an advancing enemy force.

Enemies in this area may respawn if you leave and return, so try to solve the puzzle in one go to avoid repeated encounters.

Once the puzzle is solved and the tower is unlocked, head inside to collect your hard-earned rewards.

The rewards consist of three chests filled with a range of valuable items. Among these is Meredith’s Legacy, a unique longsword imbued with necrotic damage and special perks like health leeching.

But there’s a trade-off: you won’t be able to heal with potions or abilities as long as you’re using it.

The chests may also contain rare crafting materials such as Royal Elfroot, Vhendahl’s Tears, and Pure Ore.

They also include gold and various miscellaneous loots like a Snapped Chain and a Guilded Urn.

Keep your wits about you, as one chest could be rigged with a poison trap. You’ll need to dodge swiftly if it gets triggered.
