Dune: Awakening was supposed to come out after the release of the first Dune movie, but delays happen, and the game is now looking to release this June. Before they release it to mass audiences though, there’s an open beta that’s been announced.

This May, fans can sign up and participate in the open Beta for Dune: Awakening, and they’ll be able to step into Arrakis a month early.

Dune: Awakening Open Beta - Start Time and How To Register

The open beta for Dune: Awakening is set to take place from May 9–12. You’ll be able to sign-in on the beta by requesting access via the game’s official Steam Page.

Awakening has actually been in closed beta for about a year now, but the upcoming beta weekend promises to be a massive expansion that will allow players access to the first 20 hours of the story—which is most of Act 1 of the overall narrative.

What’s an NDA?

It’s also worth noting that the open beta for Dune: Awakening also doesn’t come with a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) like the previous closed betas did. This means that players are free to stream, share footage, and discuss their experience with the game—all in the name of helping build hype.

So far, anyone who has tried the closed beta has been saying some great things about Dune: Awakening so this should be a feather in Funcom’s cap after several delays and skepticism from the fanbase. Even IGN was being nice about it:
