If you're looking to know how to get Orichalcum in Final Fantasy 16, you are probably trying to build a really great weapon. Being a necessary crafting ingredient for the best weapon in your first playthrough of the game, it will help you take on the last boss with ease.

In this guide, we'll go over how to get Orichalcum, from the hunts you need to complete to what you should do after you have got enough of this resource.

How to get Orichalcum in Final Fantasy 16

Being necessary to build the Gotterdammerung, pretty much the best weapon in your first playthrough of Final Fantasy 16, you can only get Orichalcum by doing the game's biggest hunts. You can get it from the following three hunts:

  • Atlas (The Breaker of Worlds, level 45) - An S-rank hunt that can be found in the Grand Duchy of Rosaria. You get 50 renown and 27,000 Gil for beating it. Given it will spawn in at a very high level, you only want to do this near the end of the game.
  • Behemoth King (The Masterless Marauder, level 47) - An S-rank hunt in the Kingdom of Waloed. This will give you 55 renown and 20,000 Gil for beating it. Like Atlas, this is a tough hunt that will challenge you significantly if you are not near the end of the game.
  • Gorgimera (Tricephalic Terror, level 45) - An S-rank hunt in Dhalmekian Republic that grants you 50 renown and 27,000 Gil for beating them.

Gotterdammerung will require three Orichalcum to build, so you have to save all of your Orichalcum if you want it in New Game.

That being said, you can go and grab it in New Game+ on your second time through the game, though it won't be quite as strong here. New Game+ lets you run through the game again keeping your gear and levels. To account for this, enemies are much stronger this time around and new weapons can be found, meaning Gotterdammergung won't be quite as effective.
