Things to Know Before Playing FFXVI

Whether a seasoned RPG enthusiast or a first-time player, FFVXI ensures ample recovery options. If you're defeated during a fight and have already used your potions, there's no need to buy more for your next try.
After respawning, the game gives you your potion stock back. This option is available in both the Action and Story difficulty settings. However, your Tonics don't share the same fate; you'll have to repurchase them after you die.
Regular Battles Allow Fleeing
Unlike Story questlines, you can flee from regular battles in Final Fantasy XVI. Allowing so helps you return to the fight when you have more experience, better gear, and potion stocks.
Battle boundaries vary between different fights. During FFXVI Hunts, for example, you'll find yourself within a vast glowing boundary. Run to the edge and break free of the boundary to stop the enemy chasing you.
Excess Crafting Materials= Extra Gil
Gil, the Final Fantasy universe currency, is easy to farm in XVI. And you'll have loads of crucial items to buy to keep surviving.
However, it's challenging to amass Gils from regular battles and Hunts. Instead, gather enough crafting materials from defeating enemies and exploring the maps. These will help you collect plenty of Gil to spend without needing to go and grind.
Get Your Chocobo ASAP
Final Fantasy XVI is filled with lush open areas, ready to explore. And for that, you need a trusty Chocobo on your side. To get one, you must complete a fun side quest, "The White Winged Wonder."
It's a quick side-quest and missable if you're unaware. Right after the FFXVI second time skip, you return to Martha's Rest. Complete the story here to find new side-quests activated around you. From here, take on the White Winged Wonder quest to get your Chocobo.
