Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second chapter in a trilogy that's redoing the iconic PS1 game. With the expansive world of the game series, there are heaps of gameplay to dive into, whether you're a novice or a veteran. Getting the scoop on how to claim Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth save game rewards is a good way to start.
You can score some extra goodies depending on what you've played before, such as the Episode INTERmission, the Rebirth demo, or the Remake. Bear in mind that while those bonuses can come in handy, it takes a bit of time before you can acquire these items in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
All in all, it's still worth something to claim them rather than embarking on your adventure empty-handed, especially during the game's early stages. But before we discuss the save game rewards, you might want to check how to get all Gold Saucers in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
How to claim Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth save game rewards
You need to ensure that you have a saved game file from either Episode INTERmission, the Rebirth demo, or the Remake. It needs to be on the same console as Rebirth, and make sure you're using the same account for all instances. You don't have to fully complete the previous instalments to reap the bonuses; even just starting them for a short while will do.
Transferring Final Fantasy 7 Remake to Rebirth isn't doable, but you can still carry over your progress from the demo to the full version of the game. This lets you buy some time and jump ahead past the first chapter quickly. You can also always go back and replay the demo part when you're playing the full game.
You can expect unlocking bonuses such as the Leviathan Summon, Ramuh Summon, Kupo Charm, and Survival Set, each of which can provide you with powerful allies in battles in different ways.
Once everything is sorted, here are two ways in which you can check and claim your bonuses:
If you checked for bonus eligibility when starting a new game, you can only claim your bonuses once you finish the Nibelheim flashback in Kalm at the outset of Chapter 1: Fall of a Hero or reach Chapter 2.
- Within the game, go to the 'System' menu
- Choose 'DLC / Bonuses,' and press X
- You'll then see your bonuses in your inventory.
But if you didn't check for bonus eligibility at the beginning, unlike the first one, you can still access it later by doing these:
- From the main menu, select 'Bonuses' and press ‘Check Saved Data’ to verify if you’re eligible for any bonuses.
- If eligible, play through to Chapter 2 (or skip if you've finished the Nibelheim section of the demo).
- Open the menu by pressing the Options button, navigate to ‘System,’ then ‘DLC / Bonuses,’ and claim the items.
