January 21, 2023: Looking to trigger the Fire Emblem Engage Lookout Ridge event? If you're struggling, we probably know how to fix it. You won't be happy.
The Fire Emblem series has been going for a long time now. Paying homage to old games with tracks, themes and stories, Fire Emblem Engage takes from them in meaningful ways, with a story of its own that manages to accommodate the heroes of the past. If you are looking to know how to get Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude in Fire Emblem Engage, here's how to go about it.
Being the three central protagonists from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, they give an edge on the battlefield while being a neat easter egg for returning fans of the series. But because they're not part of the 12 official Emblems encountered throughout the story, you might struggle to find them. For that, we're troubleshooting some problems you may have getting them below.

How to get Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude in Fire Emblem Engage
If you are looking to get Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude in Fire Emblem Engage, the first thing you have to do is buy the Expansion Pass. It's not terribly well documented, but they're not available in the base game. This will trigger DLC Pack 1, which launched alongside it, and comes with the following items:
- The Emblem of Rivals
- The Emblem of Dragons
- Adventuring support items
- New accessories
- Silver Card
Once you've purchased or registered the Fire Emblem Engage expansion pass to the account you're playing the game on, you need to head to the Lookout Ridge area of the Somniel to encounter the trio. Just head back to base and use the map to teleport there.
Why won't Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude show up at Lookout Ridge?
If Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude aren't showing up at Lookout Ridge, it's likely down to the first or both of these reasons:
- You don't own the DLC.
- You haven't downloaded the day one patch.
If you don't have the DLC, you can go purchase it on the eShop. You can use the main menu button to jump straight to the purchase screen.
How to download the Fire Emblem Engage Edelgard update - Day One Patch
If you don't have the day one patch yet, you can check for updates from the Nintendo Switch home menu. Hover over Fire Emblem Engage and press the + button. If the version number at the top beneath the title reads 1.0.0, you know you need an update. Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude came with Ver. 1.1.0.
Move down to "Software Update". From here, click on "Via the internet" and it should trigger the download of the day one patch. You could opt for the "Match Version With Local Users" option if someone close to you has the day one patch, too. If it still hasn't come through yet, wait a few minutes and try again.
