Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is turning heads thanks to exciting additions like the Oni Masks. These items grant players special powers that enhance either combat or mobility.
There are currently two types of Oni Masks with two rarity variations. This guide shows you how to get them and what they can do for you in the game.
How To Get All Oni Masks
Oni Masks are items that take up one inventory slot when equipped. They provide arcane abilities that can sway the outcome of the battle.
Once equipped, they take over the function of your active weapon or item, enabling their unique abilities.
Though they work like other items in equipping and firing, their powerful effects make them game-changers.
Here’s how you can get all the Oni Masks in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1:
Fire Oni Mask
The Fire Oni Mask is an offensive item that lets players fire homing projectiles.
Each fireball deals 100 damage and can hit more than one enemy if clustered.
They are particularly effective at breaking enemy structures, pressuring rivals, and dealing damage from a distance.
However, using the mask triggers a noticeable animation, making it less suitable for close-range combat.
Epic Fire Oni Mask
This can be used 8 times, with an 8-second cooldown after each attack.
You can find the Epic version of this mask in regular and Elemental Chests throughout the island.
You can easily spot Elemental Chests thanks to their glowing, ornate designs. They also have a better shot at holding this item.
The mask might also drop as loot once you defeat the Demon Warriors, mini-bosses marked with Oni Mask icons on the map.
Mythic Fire Oni Mask
The Mythic version of Shogun X's Fire Oni Mask packs 16 charges, twice as many as the Epic one.
You must defeat Shogun X, a roaming boss, to get your hands on this mask.
The map shows Shogun X's starting point, indicated by a medallion icon. At the start of the match, he teleports across the island.
When the fourth storm circle hits, the Shogun Arena spawns, so you can track him down and eliminate him.
Taking down Shogun X rewards you with the Mythic Fire Oni Mask.
Void Oni Mask
The Void Oni Mask makes moving around easy by letting you teleport wherever you want.
The mask creates a "void tear" that players can teleport to when used. It's perfect for moving around, dodging danger, or sneaking up on enemies.
The fact that it doesn't take fall damage when you teleport mid-air makes it even more helpful.
Epic Void Oni Mask
It comes with 15 charges and a 5-second cooldown, so it's ideal for quick repositioning.
You can obtain this version of the Void Oni Mask, like the epic version of the Fire Oni Mask.
This version of the Void Mask can be found in regular chests, Elemental Chests, and as drops from defeated Demon Warriors.
They may drop the Void Oni Mask and other elemental items like Typhoon Blades when defeated.
Mythic Void Oni Mask
The mask’s 50 charges make it highly versatile and effective for mobility and adaptability.
To acquire the Mythic Void Oni Mask (aka Night Rose's Void Oni Mask), you must defeat Night Rose, a boss at the Demon’s Dojo.
The encounter has different stages, where you defeat Night Rose and then face her floating oni form.
Focus on its glowing red eyes to take her down and receive the Mythic Void Oni Mask as a reward.
If your goal is damage and area control, the Fire Oni Mask is the strongest choice.
However, If you prefer speed, escaping, or ambushing, the Void Oni Mask is hands down the better choice.
If the enemy notices your orb, you can use it as a decoy while planning your next move.
The Fire and Void Oni Masks are the starting options in Chapter 6, though Fortnite’s history of regular updates hints at the potential for more masks down the line.
These might include abilities tied to elements like water, air, or earth, giving players more creative options.
For now, mastering the Oni Masks will help you make the most of your abilities and grab a win in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1.
