Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 adds a new vault in Nightshift Forest with some of the best loot on the island.

Although this vault doesn’t have a boss like in past seasons, it’s not exactly a breeze either.

This article covers everything you need to know to open the vault in Nightshift Forest.

How to Open the Vault in Nightshift Forest

Nightshift Forest is a large, glowing purple biome on the map's western side.

The vault is right in the middle of the forest, near the main building. Find the sealed door at the bottom of the staircase to enter this sought-after loot area.

To start unlocking the vault, you need to find a Sprite, a new collectible this season.

You can often spot them near Sprite Shrines, where beams of white light shoot up into the sky.

Head south from Nightshift Forest to find the nearest shrine, near Warrior’s Watch.

Once you reach a shrine, interact to expose the locations of the nearby Sprites.

Sneak up on the Sprite, as it’s hard to spot in the dark, and choose Pick Up to add it to your inventory.

The Sprite will follow you as you move. The next step is to track down Bushranger, the NPC holding the Vault Key.

Bushranger doesn’t have a fixed spawn point but typically roams around one of three Tanuki Statues in Nightshift Forest.

These statues are scattered across the forest's northeastern, northwestern, and southern regions.

Use the Characters menu in-game to find his current location quickly.

Don't forget that Bushranger is a nighttime character, so align the in-game time with this before setting off.

Once you locate Bushranger, walk up to him and choose the Show Item option while holding the Sprite.

He’ll accept the Sprite as a trade and reward you with the Vault Key.

Make sure you have the Sprite equipped for this interaction, as using any other item won’t work.

When you trade with Bushranger, the Nightshift Forest temporarily becomes the Dayshift Forest, which means the key has been claimed.

Now that you have the Vault Key make your way to the middle of Nightshift Forest to reach the vault door.

Walk down the stairs to reach the entrance and unlock the door with the key. Once the door moves, you can grab the sought-after loot inside.

The Nightshift Forest Vault is packed with high-value rewards that can turn the tide of any match. Inside, you’ll find:

  • Rare and elemental chests filled with weapons, shields, and healing supplies.
  • Ammo boxes and Slurp Barrels to top off your shields.
  • A rare Typhoon Blade that increases agility and grants powerful melee abilities, including a slam attack and mid-air dash.

This combination of items makes the vault ideal for solo players and squads.

It provides enough gear to fully equip your team for the rest of the game.

The vault’s high demand means other players might try to ambush you as you collect loot, so keep your wits about you.

Which item from the vault is the most useful in a match?
