Fortnite brings back another classic event. Players celebrate the return of the fan-favourite The Floor is Lava Mode, as it returns with a shiny new twist in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. Epic Games has brought back the fan-favourite villain Midas from the depths of the Underworld, relevant to its currently running Greek Mythology theme.

Fortnite's latest update delivers a double dose of excitement! Not only does the villain Midas return to the battle royale scene, but a brand new event packed with quests, rewards, and the classic game mode, The Floor is Lava, also joins the party. What is The Floor is Lava Mode

The Floor is Lava Mode made its debut in Chapter 1, Season 8, and became an instant hit among the Fortnite fanbase. Here’s what happens:

  • The ground gets toasty! After five minutes, lava starts rising, forcing players to build skyward in a frantic fight for survival. It's every team for themselves as players eliminate each other until only one team stands victorious.
  • The current update adds more flavour as it includes various quests and subsequent rewards that make players play around the rising lava.

What is Midas Presents: The Floor is Lava Mode

This Fortnite update isn't just about fire! The Rise of Midas event takes the popular Floor is Lava mode and infuses it with some Midas magic:

  • Golden Touch: Forget the usual fiery doom! Here, the lava gets a Midas makeover, transforming from molten red to a shiny gold expanse.
  • Chapter 5 Flair: Keep your eyes peeled for themed items from the current season scattered around the map, adding a whole new layer to the chaotic scramble for survival.
  • More Quests, More Rewards: Midas Presents: Floor is Lava comes with its own set of challenges to conquer. Completing them unlocks the Lightning King and Zeus Medallion sprays, and The Gilded Vengeance Pickaxe.

Note: Don't miss out on the fiery fun! Floor is Lava mode will only be available in Fortnite until the Rise of Midas event wraps up on April 2nd at 9:00 AM Eastern Time. Jump in and experience the golden twist before it disappears!

Finally, this update also features the Rise of Midas Cup, a solo tourney where top players snag the Ascendant Midas Outfit and Cape (before they hit the store!) Anyone with 8 points gets a special Loading Screen. Check the Compete tab - you have 3 hours to play 10 matches and climb the leaderboard!
