Fortnite is officially back on the iOS App Store in the United States after almost five years, and players can finally download it again.
If you're wondering how to get it back on your iPhone or iPad, the process is pretty simple, but there are a few things to keep in mind.
How To Download Fortnite on IOS
Start by opening the App Store on your Apple device. In the search bar, type “Fortnite” and look for the version published by Epic Games.
Since the app came back recently, it may not be listed at the very top of search results yet. If so, Epic has made a direct download link available. Tap “Get” to launch the installation.
The download begins with a small launcher, which then automatically fetches the full game files once opened. Expect around 13GB of additional data to be downloaded on first launch, so make sure you have enough storage space and a stable Wi-Fi connection before starting.
Make sure to check your device’s software version. Fortnite works only on iOS 17.4 or later, so make sure your device has the latest iOS version installed before downloading. Once the game finishes installing, log in with your Epic Games account.
From there, you’ll have access to everything available on other platforms—Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, and even the latest limited-time seasons, like the current Star Wars-themed crossover.
Outside the U.S., Fortnite isn’t available on the App Store in every region just yet. However, players in the European Union can download it through the Epic Games Store app or AltStore, thanks to newer digital distribution policies.
If you’re in another country where the game is still restricted, Fortnite is also fully playable via cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce NOW, or Amazon Luna. After years of courtroom delays, the download button is finally back—and it works.
