Looking for something new to play with your band of Merry Men? Gangs of Sherwood brings a Warhammer vibe to the legends of Robin Hood, and in this guide, we'll answer the question - will Gangs of Sherwood be co-op?
The game's story is mission-based, with players travelling all over the United Kingdom to end the Sheriff of Nottingham's terrible reign. Fans of Robin Hood's many tales are sure to have a blast, as developers Appeal Studios have clearly done their homework to bring many classic characters to life.

Is Gangs of Sherwood co-op?
The simple answer is a resounding yes. Gangs of Sherwood allows up to four-player co-op, although solo play is also supported as difficulty adjusts to the number of players.
Each player takes control of one of the Merry Men, who all have their own abilities and playstyle. We've given a brief summary of each character below, but there are plenty of upgrades and unlockable abilities to keep players entertained.
Robin Hood is unsurprisingly a master archer, using special arrows to damage enemies from afar. His polar opposite is Little John, a melee-focused fighter who can juggle enemies with a large metal fist. Maid Marian is a speedy assassin with both melee and ranged options, while Friar Tuck is the group's tank and healer with powerful area-of-effect attacks.
The game's combat takes a heavy dose of inspiration from the Devil May Cry games, so it's important to avoid damage and work as a team to get a good combat rating. It doesn't seem like other players can be substituted for AI teammates, so solo players will need to watch their own backs.
That's everything we can tell you about the co-op status of Gangs of Sherwood. While you're here, learn about the game's PC requirements and check out our release hub ahead of its November 30, 2023 debut.
