The ending of God of War Ragnarok is excellent. As we said in our review, the game is the perfect sequel. However, the ending you'll have seen isn't the final ending and won't trigger the full credits sequence. There is a God of War Ragnarok secret ending you'll want to see before you continue clearing up all of the side quests and collectibles.
The guide will explain exactly what you need to do and where you need to go to trigger the second ending. It's something you should do as soon as possible once you've reached the main ending.
If you're after more late game God of War Ragnaork tips, we also have a walkthrough of how to find the real Tyr, as well as guides on where to get smouldering embers and divine ashes.
How to get the God of War Ragnarok secret ending
Before we dive into it, there will be significant spoilers for God of War Ragnarok's final few chapters below, so don't read any further if you haven't beaten the game.
After the game ends, a new favour side quest called A Viking Funeral will begin. As you'll know, Brok died at Odin's hand towards the end of the game, so this is the perfect opportunity for Kratos and his other friends to say goodbye. However, you need to do a few things first to kick it off.
First, to get the mission waypoints to show, it's best to find Lunda at one of the blacksmith stops across the nine realms. You should find one pretty close to where you pick the game up after the main ending, as they're pretty frequent in all parts of the game.
Then, you'll need to head to Svartalfheim to visit Raeb's Tavern and tell everyone that you'll be joining them at the funeral.
After that, you'll be instructed to meet them all at Svard Sands in the Aurvangar Wetlands, which are at the other end of Svartalfheim, across the raft you pulled with Tyr near the start of the game.
Once you're there, you'll meet up with the rest of the funeral party and it will begin. It's an emotional moment and a great send off for a brilliant character.
After the funeral ends, the full God of War Ragnarok credits play before you're able to head back out into the world. That's also where you'll get to see the full voice actors list if you've been curious who plays all the characters in the game.
