Granblue Fantasy Relink is your standard JRPG with a four-person party system and missions that can require a lot of grinding. While you can't change your character, you're free to join other players and invite your friends to take on challenging quests together with the Granblue Fantasy Relink multiplayer system.
In this guide, we'll go over all the details you need to know before you can make your own Granblue Fantasy Relink session or join other people in their sessions. The game's combat certainly gets a lot more fun in terms of combos with other players involved. So, let's go over how the Granblue Fantasy Relink multiplayer co-op works.

How to play Granblue Fantasy Relink multiplayer
All multiplayer-related tasks in Granblue Fantasy Relink are handled at the Quest Counter. The Quest Counter is available in all the cities and you get introduced to it pretty early on in the game. Once you're at the Quest Counter you get two choices.
Make your own session
You can create your own custom online session in Granblue Fantasy Relink by choosing the option at the Quest Counter. Once selected, you can then customise your lobby to the preferences you want. The settings are quite convenient and let you display what the session is made for. These include specifying things such as session goals, difficulty, and playstyle. You'll be able to find people aiming for the same things.
Of course, you can also set your lobby settings to private or set a password for it. This will ensure that only your friends who have the password or code can join your session.
Search for another session
If your friend already has a lobby setup or you're looking to join up with a random crew, you can search for a session instead. Over here you have three methods to join sessions: Search by Criteria, Friend List, or Session ID.
Similar to the session creation settings, you can fine-tune your search settings to look up co-op multiplayer sessions with random players whose goals align with yours.
How to leave Granblue Fantasy Relink multiplayer session
Once you set up your own session or join another player's session, your game will load itself into their world or an online version of yours. However, if you wish to return to single-player mode you can always exit the session by heading to the main menu. You'll see red text to 'Leave Session' at the bottom of the menu.
That's all you need to know about the Granblue Fantasy multiplayer and co-op. While you're here, you should also learn how to throw objects and how to craft weapons.
