Looking to download the Guilty Gear Strive beta? This new playtest lets you dive into the renowned fighting game for free, without needing to own the game on your system of choice. Even better, it's a crossplay beta, meaning you can dive into battles with friends on other systems.
In this Guilty Gear Strive guide, we'll explain how to download this beta on the platform of your choice. So far it's only available on PC via Steam, as well as PS4 and PS5. As such, Xbox owners will have to find a different way to dive into battles.
Elsewhere, we've got some mobile guides for you to check out. Gacha fans should take a look at our Genshin Impact tier list and AFK Arena tier list for two massive games. We've also got a YuGiOh Master Duel deck list for fans of the hit card game.
How do I download the Guilty Gear Strive beta on Steam?
Downloading the Guilty Gear Strive beta on Steam isn't the most straightforward process. Rather than there being a separate store listing, it falls under the main game page on the storefront.
Head to the Steam game page, and ensure you're logged into your account. Scroll pas the main game and you'll see a section where you can request access to the Guilty Gear Strive playtest.
All you need to do is hit the Request Access button, and you'll instantly be granted permission. Then Steam will refresh the page, now showing a Play Now button next to the playtest. From there, you can download it as you would any other Steam game to dive in!
How do I download the Guilty Gear Strive beta on PS4 and PS5?
Fortunately, the method on PS4 and PS5 is much easier. This time around, all you need to do is log onto the corresponding store based on your console, and plug in the game's title.
Rather than selecting the base game's listing itself, there should be a separate entry for this free playtest. From there, it's a simple matter of downloading it, logging in, and diving into some fights.
We say should, because it doesn't yet appear like the Guilty Gear Strive beta is available in all regions. You'll need to check your own localised PlayStation Store to see whether it's landed there or not. US versions of the playtest seem to be live, though in the EU region it doesn't seem to appear just yet.
Therefore, those looking to dive into the Guilty Gear Strive beta on PlayStation will have to check their localised storefront to see whether it's arrived yet.
Given the beta runs from October 14 to October 17, the chances are it should arrive on all versions of the PlayStation Store very soon.
That's it for our look at how to download the Guilty Gear Strive playtest on PC and PlayStation. With just a few days to explore all the different fighters in the game, you'll want to get stuck in as soon as possible.
