Boosters are nothing new to any game genre, and they act as boons to tilt the odds in your favour during battle. Helldivers 2's high-octane battles will undoubtedly overwhelm you without the aid of these handy boosters, so we've created this guide to help you better understand how to unlock boosters in Helldivers 2.
While the boosters in Arrowhead's intergalactic battle for freedom don't quite match up with the ones we're familiar with from the first game, the twist is that they're infinitely usable this time around. So to capitalise on their potential, you'd better equip as many boosters as possible.
Although boosters are infinitely usable, they are not given out by default. This guide will provide you with the intel on how to unlock the boosters plus it'll help you determine the type of booster that suits your play style best.
How to unlock Boosters in Helldivers 2
The bonuses you can get from boosters can greatly enhance different facets of your gameplay. You can only obtain them by participating in the Battle Pass, which can be found when you head over to the Acquisition Center. You'll see different categories, one of which is Warbonds.
There, you can choose either of the options, such as Helldivers Mobilize and Steeled Veterans, and then navigate through the pages until you find the Booster you're looking for. When you find it, you can unlock Boosters by spending some of the medals you've earned or accumulated throughout your journey. You will need a minimum of 15 medals to unlock one, but it can cost up to 150 medals.
Here are seven different boosters, each meeting seven needs:
- Hellpod Space Optimization (Page 3): When you drop into the game, you'll be fully loaded with ammo for your primary and secondary weapons (support weapons aren’t counted). This applies every time you drop, whether it's your first time or you're being called back in as reinforcements.
- (Premium Warbond) Flexible Reinforcement Budget (Page 3): Reduces reinforcement cooldown by 12 seconds when it reaches 0.
- Vitality Enhancement (Page 4): Increases your durability and resilience so you can withstand injuries better. Reduces the likelihood of limb injuries, making limbs less susceptible to damage, especially from chargers.
- UAV Recon Booster (Page 6): Increases the detection range for enemies, bug nests, and some objectives by roughly 50 meters.
- Stamina Enhancement (Page 7): Extends sprint duration by about 30% and accelerates sprint recovery speed by about 60%.
- Muscle Enhancement (Page 9): Makes it easier for you to move through tough terrain like snow or mud.
- Increased Reinforcement Budget (Page 10): Adds +1 to your reinforcement number per person in your party.
Before heading on the mission, you can equip yourself with any of the boosters provided, which will spread across the team so that each of your party members can reap the benefits of bonuses and leverage them effectively in combat.
Preparing your stratagem loadout with your squadmates before the mission will help you avoid redundant boosters. Arrowhead forsaw this, however, and ensured that you cannot double up on boosters. This is because each booster can only be used once by the team.
