How to beat the Exalted Archon
Beating the Exalted Archon is no easy feat, regardless of the difficulty level you choose. It has a number of very powerful attacks that will threaten to very quickly wipe you out and its physical dominance makes it a challenge to keep out of its way. Here are some tricks to get the job done.
Maintain distance
This may be easier said than done, but the sheer size of the Exalted Archon is a huge advantage for the boss. While it is slow in its attacks, using sequences such as its stomp can be difficult to avoid, not to mention it is hard to find its weak points when it is too close to you.
There are a number of Lash points that you can use around the map that will give you windows of opportunity to unleash your own barrage of strikes once distance has been established. Use these liberally as a space creator and as a tool to dodge the Archon's powerful energy beam.
Make use of all of Jak's spells
Jak has a number of different spell types at his disposal, all of which serve a multitude of purposes and thus can cater to a number of different strategies. Consider which spell types, from Strikes to Furies and Totem abilities, best work for you and utilise them in cooperation with one another.
Spells such as Disrupt can be very useful if timed correctly, as they will throw off the Archon's attacking sequences. In regards to Furies, the Torrent is the best option here as a means of chipping away at your foe's health. The effectiveness of Strikes depends on the player, but you should favour green and blue spells on account of their effectiveness from a distance.
Make the most of the resources provided
While it is difficult to divert your attention from the giant before you, take note of the surrounding environment and the resources it provides you. Among the platforms and upstairs you will find consumables that can help you with your mana, health, and Dominion spell supplies, all of which are crucial for survival.
The biggest advantage to these consumables is that Jak's Dominion spell becomes more available than usual. This means that you won't have to use it as sparingly and can unleash a potent assault on the boss.
The Dominion spell is the greatest display of Jak's power, so use it as often as possible. For the best results, aim for the Archon's head, especially during sequences when it exposes the area where its face should be.
We hope this helps you get the victory over this tough opponent. For more Immortals of Aveum content, see our guide to beating Sandrakk and find out which Furies are the best in the game.
