League of Legends - K'Sante, the Prize of Nazumah
K'Sante, the Pride of Nazumah is a top lane melee champion, who flexes between being a tanky Warden, and a powerful Skirmisher. He wants to protect his friends by isolating and neutralizing threats in an epic 1v1 duel to the death. Let's look at his abilities and how they play into this unique role.
League of Legends K'Sante Abilities
PASSIVE - Dauntless Instinct
K'Sante's damaging abilities mark enemies for a short duration. Attacking a marked enemy consumes the mark to deal damage plus max health physical damage
All Out: Attacking a marked enemy instead deals physical damage and additional max health true damage
Q - Ntofo Strikes
K'Sante slams his weapon, dealing physical damage and briefly slowing targets hit. If an enemy is hit, K'Sante gains a stack for a short duration. At two stacks, K'Sante instead fires a shockwave that pulls enemies.
All Out: This ability's cooldown is reduced and no longer slows.
W - Path Maker
Begin Charging: K'Sante raises his weapons defensively for a short duration, becoming Unstoppable, and reduces incoming damage.
Release: K'Sante rams forward, dealing a percentage of max health physical damage, knocking back and stunning enemies he passes through for a short duration based on the charge time.
All Out: This ability's cooldown is refreshed, damage taken reduction is increased, deals additional physical damage based on charge time, and charge and dash speeds are doubled.
E - Footwork
K'Sante dashes, gaining a shield for a short duration. If dashing to an ally, the distance is significantly increased, and they are also shielded. Other abilities can be cast during Footwork.
R - All Out
K'Sante shatters his tonfas, dealing physical damage and knocking back an enemy champion. Enemy champions that hit a wall will instead take greater damage, are knocked over the wall and are briefly stunned. K'Sante then dashes after the enemy and goes All Out for an extended duration
All Out: K'Sante loses a percentage of max health, bonus armor, and bonus Magic Resistance. K'Sante gains attack damage, omnivamp, and transforms his abilities.
How to play League of Legends K'Sante
K'Sante thrives at being a top lane champion. Given that he starts in Warden form, he will be much more effective at trading blows in the laning phase of the game. That being said, it does seem possible that K'Sante could do well in other roles.
During team fights, he really has one goal. Isolate a champion to allow his allies to take fights more favorably. This can come in the form of taking an enemy that dives your carry over a wall to fight them 1v1, or taking the enemy carry out of a fight long enough for your team to mop up the rest.
This maneuver can also be executed at various objectives as well. For example, K'Sante could blast plant over the wall at the dragon pit, Flash behind an enemy fighting dragon, and potentially knock them back over the Dragon pit wall, into the open arms of your team for a quick pick.
Best items for K'Sante
K'Sante's itemization is going to be rather unique and you can have a few different ways to build him. Let's start out with the Mythic items you could consider for him.
MYTHIC ITEMS
- Divine Sunderer
- Eclipse
- Sunfire Aegis
- Frostfire Gauntlets
- Trinity Force
Divine Sunderer and Eclipse are the more stable offensive choices, though Trinity Force could be an incredible dueling tool. These play more into a play making midgame Skirmisher style. Defensively, Sunfire Aegis and Frostfire Gauntlets are great choices for really locking down your opponent, while whittling away at their life pool with the damage over time effect.
LEGENDARY ITEMS
- Black Cleaver
- Death's Dance
- Chempunk Chainsword
- The Collector
- Thornmail
- Randiun's Omen
- Warmog's Armor
- Maw of Malmortius
For our Legendary items to fill out our kit, there's some really great choices here. Offensively, two key items we're looking to go for will be Black Cleaver and Death's Dance. Additionally, Chempunk Chainsword provides Grievous Wounds, which is very important to have when you're isloating a champion and can't get that from your allies. The Collector is probably a fine 5th item to pick up, just allowing you to get fights over a bit quicker.
Defensively, we're looking for things like Thornmail and Warmog's Armor. We could also potentially want something like Randuin's Omen, or Maw of Malmortius depending on the composition we're against.
For our Boots, we have two choices. More often than not, Plated Steelcaps are going to be the go to, though Mercury's Treads could be worthwhile depending on the composition.
And that's K'Sante! He's a very unique champion that has a lot of potential to be a serious threat on the Rift. He does seem to have a pretty high skill cap though, so he should be very satisfying to play. Be sure to check back as more information becomes available about him!
