September 19, 2023: Find out how much of your time will be dedicated to becoming a real boy. Lies of P is out now!

Find out here how long it will take to beat Lies of P! In a quirky project that combines a Disney classic with the hugely popular stylings reminiscent of Bloodborne, Neowiz Games' Lies of P puts a whole new spin on the would-be real boy, Pinocchio. The game will immerse you in a thrilling story and have you banging your head against the proverbial (we hope) wall with its challenging combat.

In this guide, we'll reveal how long Lies of P will take to beat. We'd suggest taking this estimation with a pinch of salt, because it's a brutal title that will take some longer than others. The length of time it takes you to complete the game will likely come down to how skilled you are in the game's combat, as some battles will chew up a lot of your time if you're not a Pinocchio aficionado (aficionocchio?).

How long does it take to beat Lies of P?

The general consensus is that it will take you approximately 35 hours to finish Lies of P. However, with some first-hand experience behind us, we would hazard a guess that it will take quite a few of us a bit longer than that to find out how the story ends.

With that said, the 30+ hours it takes you to complete the story will only scratch the surface of the game. As you'll discover, and as is indicated in the game's trophies and achievements list, there's more than one ending. Additionally, because you can't have more than one save file per playthrough, you'll likely have to play the game in its entirety on multiple occasions to find out all the possible conclusions included in the title.

Why would Lies of P take longer than the estimated time?

Lies of P is a tough game that will find countless ways to punish you for the slightest mistake, or not having the right strategy for the task at hand. The boss battles are particularly tough, even if you have a Specter on hand to help you out.

What may cause the biggest delay in completing Lies of P is needing to backtrack for the sake of building a stronger Pinocchio for the challenge ahead. We found a number of bosses that were just too much to beat, and after draining our supply of Star Fragments and being left deflated, we went back to previously-conquered ground to bash some familiar faces.

After spending some time farming Ergo and resources so we could upgrade our weapons and level up, we found the boss battles slightly more manageable. So unless you're an expert on the mechanics behind soulslike titles and accustomed to that style of combat, be prepared to take longer than estimated to finish Lies of P.
