Heroes are essential in Marvel Rivals, but how you deck them out matters just as much. There are endless ways to make your character stand out.
However, with multiple currencies in the game, figuring out how to spend them all can be a bit confusing.
This article shows you how to make the most of all the currencies.
How To Use All Currencies
Marvel Rivals makes the gameplay fun with different in-game currencies that help you level up and unlock exclusive cosmetic items.
The game has three main currencies: Lattice, Units, and Chrono Tokens.
With so many different currencies, knowing when and how to use each one can be hard. Here's what each currency is for:
Lattice
Lattice is the go-to premium currency in Marvel Rivals and lets you unlock other types of currency.
It bridges the gap between various in-game currencies and helps you get better rewards.
Lattice doesn’t work for buying skins or emotes, but it’s how you get Units and Chrono Tokens needed for in-game purchases.
You don’t get this by playing; you need to buy it with real money.
You can buy Lattice in the in-game shop, which costs $0.99 for 100 Lattice or $99.99 for 11,680 Lattice.
Here's the complete list of Lattice pricing:
- 100 Lattice for $0.99
- 500 Lattice for $4.99
- 1,000 Lattice for $9.99
- 2,180 Lattice for $19.99
- 5,680 Lattice for $49.99
- 11,680 Lattice for $99.99
The main thing you do with Lattice is trade it for Units or Chrono Tokens at 1:1.
This trade gives you access to the game’s cosmetic items and Battle Pass rewards.
You can also spend Lattice on the Luxury Battle Pass and unlock exclusive items and skins.
For instance, you need 490 Lattice to buy the base version of the Battle Pass or 1,050 Lattice for a more advanced version with bonus levels.
Units
Units are the most common currency in Marvel Rivals and are mainly used for skins, bundles, and other cosmetic items.
If you’re after a new character skin, emote, or unique animation, you’ll find yourself using Units more than any other currency.
Unlike Lattice, you can't grab Units straight up with real cash.
Instead, the only way to get Units is by converting Lattice for them or earning them as you play.
Units are also up for grabs when you complete specific missions, achievements, and milestones in the Battle Pass.
You can earn Units by participating in events and completing tasks during special promotions.
You can swap Lattice for Units, but if you grind through the events and Heroic Journey missions, you'll keep earning Units without too much trouble.
You’ll mostly spend units on character skins, emotes, and special bundles.
A standard bundle, which generally includes a character skin and cosmetics such as emotes and animations, costs about 1,600 Units.
Since you accumulate Units slowly through the Battle Pass and events, saving them for bigger purchases is a good idea.
Chrono Tokens
Chrono Tokens are specifically designed for the Battle Pass system in Marvel Rivals and are used to unlock exclusive rewards tied to the pass.
You can't use these tokens for anything other than the Battle Pass, so they're like a special-use currency.
Chrono Tokens mostly come from doing daily and seasonal missions in the Battle Pass.
Taking on simple objectives, like winning matches or completing challenges, will earn you Chrono Tokens.
Occasionally, you can get Chrono Tokens from achievements, but they're less common than Battle Pass rewards.
Some special events and in-game promotions, like Twitch Drops, might also offer free Chrono Tokens.
Chrono Tokens are strictly used to unlock items within the Battle Pass, such as skins, emotes, and other cosmetics.
Depending on rarity, each item in the Battle Pass can be purchased for anywhere from 200 to 400 Chrono Tokens.
If you're after skins, the most desirable rewards, they usually cost 400 Chrono Tokens.
To get the most bang for your buck in Marvel Rivals, focus on the Battle Pass and missions to rack up Chrono Tokens without spending extra cash.
Use Lattice smartly to convert it into Units when necessary, and look for events or promos that might offer extra free currency.
Keep going, and you'll see your currency pile up.
