The lineup for X-Men '97

Excited about the upcoming X-Men game that’s being planned by Insomniac? Here’s everything we know about Marvel’s X-Men to help tide you over until its launch.

A Marvel’s X-Men game is in the works and it seems to be in capable hands given that it is being developed by Insomniac. They’re the same group of people behind the huge success of Spider-Man 2.

Details behind Insomniac’s X-Men game weren’t the only thing revealed by the leaks. If you’re looking for more info on what the developer has planned for the next decade, feel free to check out the cast and characters for Wolverine and DLC for Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s X-Men release date

We don’t have an exact date just yet, but Marvel’s X-Men is slated for a release in 2030 according to the leaks. That seems like an eternity away, but Insomniac does have other Marvel games like Venom, Wolverine, and Spider-Man 3 scheduled until then.

Of course, schedules and released dates get moved around all the time so we’ll be sure to update this page in case of any changes.

Is Marvel’s X-Men a PlayStation exclusive?

Though nothing has been outright confirmed, there is a good chance that Marvel’s X-Men will be exclusive to PlayStation before eventually coming to PC. This has been the trend set by Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.

Interestingly enough, the 2030 release date does make it possible for Marvel’s X-Men to be released on the next generation console from Sony. But even if that were the case, there’s still a good chance that the game will also be made available on the PS5.

It also seems that Insomniac has some sort of exclusivity deal with Marvel regarding the use of X-Men characters. This prohibits Marvel from releasing X-Men games on console and PC until 2035, but X-Men characters may still show up in other games that feature other Marvel superhero teams like the Avengers or Fantastic Four.
