Elementa in Metaphor: ReFantazio are ethereal beings that take the form of floating orbs, each associated with distinct elemental powers such as fire, ice, electricity, or wind.

These enemies resemble rare monsters from other RPGs, such as Persona's Hand enemies or Dark Souls' Crystal Lizards. This article explores how to defeat each Elementa, which is highly sought after for the rewards they offer.

These enemies are rare, but they offer high rewards. The challenge is that Elementa do not attack—they flee as soon as their turn comes up, meaning your goal is to deal as much damage as possible before they escape.

Since their speed makes them hard to catch, use abilities or accessories like the Phantasmal Doll to enable swift action and increase damage potential.

The Phantasmal Doll doesn’t give you an extra turn in the battle's rotation for your entire party. Instead, it allows one specific character to act twice in a row.

This makes it particularly useful for characters who can exploit an Elementa’s elemental weakness or deal the most damage. You can buy the Phantasmal Doll from the magic shop in Grand Trad, though it is relatively expensive, costing around 49,000 Reeve.

The shop is only open at night, so you will need to plan your visits accordingly. Before initiating battle, you should also try to stun each elementa in the overworld by draining its stun gauge, giving you extra time in combat.

Here are some extra tactics to defeat each elementa:

Blue Elementa

The Blue Elementa is one of the first types of Elementa you’ll encounter.

This elementa is especially vulnerable to fire-based attacks. As soon as you encounter one, you should be prepared with fire spells such as Bot, Gabot, or other fire-element skills.

These spells are typically available to characters with Mage or Magic Seeker Archetypes. Blue Elementa can be found in areas like the outskirts of Grand Trad or specific dungeons like Belega Corridor.

It drops the rare Splintering Ice Crystal for enhancing gear and valuable Onyx for selling.

Red Elementa

The Red Elementa, as its color suggests, is vulnerable to Ice attacks.

Spells like Blizz, Gablizz, or Blizzaton will deal the most damage and can even trigger critical hits, providing additional turns.

The Mage and Wizard Archetypes are usually the best choices for this battle since they have access to these ice spells.

If you lack these abilities, items like Ice Chunks can substitute for ice-based damage. Red Elementa often appears in mid-level dungeons, such as areas beneath castles or around the Martira Outskirts.

Defeating this elementa drops rare items like the Lava Crystal and Peridot, both of which can be sold for Reeve or used for crafting.

Green Elementa

The Green Elementa’s main weakness is electric attacks, so spells like Kande, Gakande, or Kandera are most effective.

You can find these skills in Mage and Magic Knight Archetypes, with the latter also being able to wield electric-based weapons. Avoid using wind-based attacks, as Green Elementa are resistant to them.

If electric skills are unavailable, consider using electric damage items that can target its weakness. Keep in mind that Green Elementa often appears in areas with inclement weather.

They drop valuable items such as the Stormcaller Flute, which can be used in battle for wind-based attacks, and Amethyst, which can be sold for Reeve.

Golden Elementa

The Golden Elementa is vulnerable to Wind attacks, which means skills like Cyc, Gacyc, or Cyclone will be your best bet for taking it down.

The Seeker and Magic Seeker Archetypes are particularly useful for these encounters, as they have access to a wide range of wind-based abilities.

These enemies appear in specific regions, particularly in high-level areas like Virga Island or during inclement weather.

However, defeating them can be highly rewarding, as they drop rare items such as the Electrifying Drum and Aquamarine, which are valuable for crafting or selling.

To farm every Elementa efficiently, take advantage of their respawn mechanics by leaving and re-entering dungeons or areas.
