Reeve is the main currency that makes the fantasy world of Metaphor: ReFantazio go round. More than just a means for buying weapons, armor, and consumables, it helps with character development by allowing upgrades and crafting.
Reeve can also unlock access to special merchants and rare items. In short, you need money to survive long-term. Here’s how to quickly earn reeve in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
How To Earn Reeve Fast in Metaphor: Refantazio
Building wealth in Metaphor: ReFantazio combines smart grinding, strategic archetype choices, and well-timed transactions.
Here are the best methods to maximize your Reeve earnings efficiently:
1. Unlock and Use the Merchant Archetype
The Merchant Archetype gives you solid ways to earn Reeve. To unlock and make the most of the Merchant Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you need to complete Brigitta’s questline in Grand Trad.
The key to accessing this class is meeting the Wisdom requirement of Rank 2 in your Royal Virtue. Once unlocked, this archetype gives you access to the Alchemy passive, which rewards extra Reeve whenever you defeat enemies outside of squad battles.
This makes it ideal for quick farming, especially in regions where weaker enemies roam, such as the Tradia Desert or areas with Trance Crystals. The archetype allows for efficient grinding by enabling you to collect more Reeve in shorter time frames.
This is particularly beneficial because overworld battles consume fewer resources than full encounters. If you focus on areas where you are over-leveled, you can swiftly defeat enemies and accumulate wealth without much effort.
2. Farm Dungeon Sections Efficiently
One of the effective ways to earn Reeve is by farming specific sections of dungeons that allow enemy respawns. Some dungeon areas reset when you pass through a loading zone.
For instance, after defeating Captain Klinger in the Nord Mines, you can move between Dig Site #2 and the Storehouse to reset enemies like Gelatinos, Serpetia, and Feral Hundos.
Taking down these enemies multiple times rewards you with Reeve. Staying unharmed in battles can also give you additional bonuses. After clearing enemies in a section, return to a safe zone like the Storehouse, then head back to re-encounter the monsters.
When grinding enemies in the overworld or dungeons, constantly monitor your party’s HP and MP to keep the farming sustainable. Weak enemies in the overworld (spotted using Fae Sight) can also be farmed since they drop smaller amounts of Reeve without consuming battle resources.
3. Sell Enemy Drops and Unused Gear
You can also reliably build wealth by selling enemy drops and unused gear. You will accumulate various materials and equipment as you battle through dungeons and the overworld.
Enemies often drop items of various rarities, and selling them right away can generate a steady income. When you revisit dungeons regularly, each run can yield more drops that pile up over time.
Unused weapons or armor should be sold rather than kept, especially those replaced by better equipment. Visiting a church to purify corrupted or mysterious items before selling them can significantly increase their value.
You can also appraise unknown gear to discover valuable equipment you can sell or repurpose. Keep only what benefits your party and sell the rest to generate a consistent income.
4. Exchange MAG for Reeve Wisely
You can convert MAG (another in-game resource) into Reeve at specific exchanges in cities. The conversion rate may seem low at first, but you can improve it by increasing Brigitta’s follower bond.
Once you hit Rank 3, you gain access to a better rate, and reaching Rank 6 enhances it even further. Weather conditions also impact exchanges.
Rainy days offer the best rates, so it is worth waiting for inclement weather before selling MAG. Reserve this strategy for emergencies since MAG is also needed to unlock Archetypes.
5. Capitalize on Idlesday and Forgiveness Day Discounts
Timing your purchases is just as important as making money. Every fifth day of the week is Idlesday, which features a 20-40% discount in most stores.
If possible, delay big purchases (like major upgrades or rare items) until Forgiveness Day, when discounts offer even steeper price cuts.
This day only occurs once yearly, so plan purchases carefully to make the most of it. Stock up on expensive weapons, gear, and consumables during these times to maximize your savings over time.
6. Utilize the Thief Archetype for Extra Loot
The Thief Archetype offers a chance to increase income through clever item collection. When the character Heismay joins your team, you gain access to this archetype, which focuses on looting enemies.
The Pickpocket passive ability gives a chance to collect items whenever you defeat or stun an enemy that steady rewards during combat. Once you reach rank 2, steal skills become available, allowing you to take rare items straight from enemies.
Increase the character's Agility to get the most out of these abilities. A higher Agility score also improves the frequency of successful pickpocketing and the chance of stealing rare items.
The items collected through these methods can serve dual purposes—either enhancing your equipment or selling them to merchants for extra Reeve.
Balancing these methods will keep your party well-equipped and prepare you for more demanding encounters.
