Tolerance is one of the five Royal Virtues in Metaphor: ReFantazio that players can rank up throughout their journey in Euchronia. These virtues play a big role in unlocking some key features in the game and improving Follower Bond ranks.
Tolerance is key for completing many follower side stories. Raising your Tolerance unlocks new interactions and content tied to specific followers and side quests, making it essential for achieving 100% game completion. This guide will cover all the ways to boost tolerance in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
How to Increase Tolerance
Tolerance plays a key role in Metaphor: ReFantazio as it affects many aspects of the game. You can increase this virtue by interacting with NPCs and completing specific side quests. Here's a detailed guide on all the methods available to boost Tolerance in the game:
Listen to the Mustari NPCs
In each city, you will find several masked members of the Mustari tribe, a lesser-known group in Euchronia. These NPCs are usually found in places like Sunshade Row and Thoroughfare Square. These fellows are not just there for game lore but offer you Tolerance points just by talking to them. It is recommended to speak to the Mustari in the city that is relevant to your story progression to increase your Tolerance.
Complete Side Quests
Several quests in Metaphor: ReFantazio reward you with Tolerance points. For example, quests like helping Fabienne at the Hushed Honeybee Inn or talking to the Man with the Cow on Cattleracket Road significantly increase your Tolerance. Make sure to look out for quests that list Tolerance in their rewards.
Spend Time with Heismay
After joining the party, Heismay will be available to interact with you during your travels on the Gauntlet Runner. You can simply spend time with him, particularly during the evenings, to increase Tolerance. In addition, Heismay also gives you a book titled Bygone Days, which you can read at the Gauntlet Runner for additional Tolerance points.
Read Books on the Gauntlet Runner
Some books on the Gauntlet Runner’s bookshelf, like Bygone Days (from Heismay) and How to Walk Outside the Island, grant Tolerance points when you read them. You can read these books multiple times. Additionally, you can earn bonus points from Gallica by answering specific questions correctly while reading.
Interact with Specific NPCs
Some NPCs around Euchronia have icons that indicate which Royal Virtue they can offer you. For Tolerance points, you can look for the heart-in-hands icon above the heads of characters. You can talk to them to boost your Tolerance points and learn more about their backgrounds.
