Where To Find All Gold Beetles in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Gold Beetles are scattered across various regions of the game, with 50 beetles to find in total, though you only need 46 for the final reward.

There is no specific order required to collect the Gold Beetles in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
However, some beetles are missable due to story events or time-sensitive quests, so it’s recommended to collect those as you encounter them.
Here’s an exhaustive list of all 50 locations for gold beetles:
Grand Trad Region
- Gold Bettle #1: Near a tree when camping with Strohl and Grius at Northern Border Fort. This beetle is only available during the camp event, so be sure to collect it before leaving.
- Gold Bettle #2: Behind a staircase next to the armor shop in Sunshade Row. Head down the alley near the shop, and you will find the beetle tucked away behind the stairs.
- Gold Bettle #3: Enter the Comfort Concoctions shop and look to your right upon entering. The beetle is hidden inside a glowing spice sack near the entrance.
- Gold Bettle #4: In the Grand Trad Recruitment Centre, search the corridor on the left side of the main entrance. The beetle is hidden here, so make sure to look closely in this area.
- Gold Bettle #5: At the Regalith Grand Cathedral marketplace, look for a merchant's stall near the Herb-Seller. The beetle is sitting at one of the stalls, easy to miss if you don't check carefully.
- Gold Bettle #6: After visiting Virga Island during the story, return to Comfort Concoctions in Grand Trad. The shopkeeper will have moved some pots, revealing a beetle hidden behind the counter.
Tradia Desert Region
- Gold Bettle #7: In the northeastern section of the Traveler’s Graveyard, near a large rock formation, you’ll find the beetle hidden inside a bush.
- Gold Bettle #8: In the Abandoned Tomb, head to the southwestern area. The beetle is located near a dead-end after descending a ladder.
- Gold Beetle #9: As you enter the Disgraced Ruins, take the first left fork. Follow the path, and you’ll find the beetle hidden at the end of this route. The area is rocky, so keep an eye on your surroundings to spot it.
- Gold Beetle #10: In Scoundrel’s Hold, descend to the ground level and find a ladder leading down to a semi-hidden area on B1F. The beetle will be in a small strip to the south of this floor, hidden out of sight.
- Gold Bettle #11: On the second basement floor of Scoundrel’s Hold, access the area using a ladder from B3. The beetle is hidden in the southern part of the dungeon.
Martira Region
- Gold Bettle #12: Inside the Visca Alba Tavern in Martira, check the fireplace. The beetle is tucked away inside the fireplace, so interact with it to collect it.
- Gold Bettle #13: Head to the guest room in the Visca Alba Tavern and interact with a water pitcher on the desk. You’ll need to try a few times as the beetle is not always available on the first attempt.
- Gold Bettle #14: In Martira’s MesmerEyes Apothecary, find the beetle hidden in a glowing spice sack near the small staircase.
- Gold Bettle #15: Near a stack of hay bales close to a goat in the middle section of Cattleracket Road, the beetle is tucked away behind the bales.
Belega Corridor
- Gold Bettle #16: On the second basement floor of Belega Corridor, crawl through a small passageway leading to a hidden room. The beetle is located in the southern part of the room.
Port Brilehaven Region
- Gold Bettle #17: Near wooden crates along the docks in the northwest area of Seabreeze Street, you’ll find the beetle. Search the area around the docks for the right stack of crates.
- Gold Bettle #18: In a small alley on Seabreeze Street, near the Arrogant Seer, another beetle is hidden. This beetle can be tricky to spot as it’s tucked away in the southern section.
- Gold Bettle #19: After completing the “Dental Distress” side quest, speak to the Sullen Man to receive this beetle. Be cautious, as this quest is time-sensitive and missable.
- Gold Bettle #20: In Merchant’s Bazaar, find a stack of crates near the entrance to the Recruitment Centre. The beetle is behind the crates.
- Gold Bettle #21: At the end of an alley near the item shop in Merchant’s Bazaar, another beetle is hidden. This beetle requires careful searching as it’s located in a narrow space.
- Gold Bettle #22: North of the Elderly Entomophile at Arenafront Wharf, this beetle is sitting next to two crates. It's easy to miss if you don’t explore the area thoroughly.
Virga Island Region
- Gold Bettle #23: In the Village of Pagans, head to the tavern and look behind the dragon statue near the building. The beetle is hidden behind the statue.
- Gold Bettle #24: Near the Rooster Inn in the Village of Pagans, search behind the building to find the beetle near two statues.
- Gold Bettle #25: On Sandy Coast, climb a ladder that leads to a platform behind a dragon statue. The beetle is found here, next to the statue.
- Gold Bettle #26: On Sandy Coast, behind a stack of crates near the coastline, you’ll find this beetle. Be sure to check all the crates in the southern part of the area.
- Gold Bettle #27: After completing the Dragon Temple questline, return to the Village of Pagans and speak to the Clumsy Boy near the Rooster Inn. He will reward you with this beetle.
Tomb of Lament
- Gold Bettle #28: In the Tomb of Lament, near the boss door, crawl through a small passageway to reach a hidden room containing the beetle.
- Gold Bettle #29: On the first floor of Tomb of Lament, another beetle is hidden near a cat statue. Use a nearby crawlspace to access the room where the beetle is located.
Forsaken Tower
- Gold Bettle #30: On the fifth floor of Forsaken Tower, head to the northern part near the railing. The beetle is hidden in this area, but watch out for enemies as this floor can be dangerous.
Imp’s Den
- Gold Bettle #31: In the northwest section of Imp’s Den, find the beetle near a set of ramps. This beetle is well-concealed, so look carefully.
Orbwise Path
- Gold Bettle #32: On the first floor of Orbwise Path, head to the east side of the map, near two treasure chests. The beetle is tucked away in this section.
- Gold Bettle #33: On the second floor of Orbwise Path, make your way to the northern part of the map. The beetle is hidden here, which you can access by climbing the staircase.
Altabury Heights Region
- Gold Bettle #34: On the Lunlumo Approach, search the sidewalk halfway up the path on the right side of the street. The beetle is located along the sidewalk, partially hidden by trees.
- Gold Bettle #35: At the bottom of a long staircase near the Recruitment Centre, you’ll find the beetle hidden near the base of the stairs.
- Gold Bettle #36: Inside the Whitepeaks Magic Shop in Altabury Heights, the beetle is hidden inside a cauldron, but only accessible at night.
- Gold Bettle #37: In Skyward Tavern, search the upper floor near some barrels. The beetle is hidden in a corner, so look closely.
- Gold Bettle #38: In Opera House Square, cross the long bridge to find the beetle at the far end of the bridge.
- Gold Bettle #39: Between the weapon shop and the item shop on Blue Sky Bridge, the beetle is hidden in a small space between the two buildings.
- Gold Beetle #40: This beetle is rewarded for completing the “Deliver Hot Spring Water” side quest in Blue Sky Bridge, located in Altabury Heights. After delivering the water, the beetle will be given as a reward.
- Gold Bettle #41: Located on the second level of Mt. Vulkano, just north of Altabury Heights. Climb a ladder to reach the eastern side of the floor. The beetle is hidden near the ladder.
- Gold Beetle #42: This beetle is found in the northernmost part of the Abandoned Path (southwest of Altabury Heights). Follow the trail up north until it comes to an end, and the beetle will be hidden along the path.
Everfrost Forest
- Gold Bettle #43: In Everfrost Forest, head to the far southwestern area. The beetle is hidden near some trees, tucked away from the main path.
Tower of Insolence
- Gold Bettle #44: On the second floor of Tower of Insolence, search the northeastern section near the railings. The beetle is located here, partially hidden by the architecture.
- Gold Bettle #45: On the sixth floor of Tower of Insolence, look near the northern wall to find another beetle. Be cautious of enemies in the area.
Ancient Eldan Sanctum Region
- Gold Bettle #46: During a story mission in the Plaza of Light, you’ll find this beetle near a collapsed house. Be sure to collect it before leaving, as the area becomes inaccessible later in the game.
- Gold Beetle #47: During the story mission in the Ancient Eldan Sanctum’s Plaza of Light, the beetle can be found hidden behind a broken shed. This beetle is missable, so make sure to collect it during this mission as you won’t be able to return afterward.
Manor of the Ascendant Region
- Gold Beetle #48: On the second floor of the Manor of the Ascendant, you’ll need to crawl through a small passage in the eastern part of the room. The beetle is hidden in this offshoot room after passing through the crawlspace.
Gracia Forest
- Gold Beetle #49: In Gracia Forest, head to the northeastern part of the map. The beetle is hidden in a dead-end area, close to the fourth Dragonthistle Berry you need to collect during the Soldier’s Solace side quest.
Land of Ceremony Region
- Gold Beetle #50: In the Land of Ceremony, head to the third floor, near the corridor southwest of the boss door. You’ll find the beetle hidden in this area after accepting the “Trial of Malnova” side quest.

- 1 Beetle: Arcane Dragonblood (restores MP)
- 12 Beetles: Venomward Charm (nullifies physical ailments)
- 25 Beetles: Claw Breakers (weapon)
- 38 Beetles: Flameseal Corselet (armor)
- 46 Beetles: Dragon’s Fall (legendary sword)
Any additional beetles found beyond 46 can still be traded for more Arcane Dragonbloods in New Game Plus.
