To get to the Mist Fields in God of War Ragnarok, you’ll first need to complete the game’s main quest line ‘The Path’. However, while you’ll naturally come upon Niflheim during the story, you won’t be able to plunder the Mist Field’s goodies until you’re in the post-game.
The Mist Fields contain two very important locations for post-game favours: the Frostfinger flower for the ‘Nine Realms in Bloom’ favour, and a Berserker Gravestone for the ‘Fit for a King’ favour. Doing the latter will net you the Berserker Gauntlets, part of a powerful late-game set.
In this guide, we'll walk you through reaching the Mist Fields in God of War Ragnarok, as well as where to find two important collectibles to speed up your post-game completion journey.
How to get to the Mist Fields in God of War Ragnarok
To explore the Mist Fields, you’ll need to have completed the game’s main story. Specifically, the favour ‘The Realms at War’. If you’d like to check your progress, you can read through our full list of main quest missions.
Once you’ve done so, head to Sindri’s house and summon Ratatoskr by ringing the bell. Speak with him, then swipe up the pouch of seeds in front of you. Grabbing these seeds will unlock a whole host of locations across the nine realms, including the Mist Fields. Return to a mystic gateway, select Niflheim, and choose the undiscovered portal. It should be the one directly underneath the Raven Tree gateway on the list.
Once there, you’ll be greeted by the delightfully chilly mists of Niflheim, and you’ll be able to claim the Frostfinger flower and the Berserker Gauntlets for yourself.
Collectibles in the Mist Fields
There are two collectibles to be found in the Mist Fields, the Frostfinger flower and a Berserker Gravestone.
To obtain the Frostfinger flower from the mystic gateway, head forward and just a little to the left. You should find the flower ripe for the picking in front of several dozen swords left by Niflheim’s past victims.
To find the Berserker Gravestone, turn right from the flower and forge straight ahead in the direction of the tall, ice-covered statue rising above the mists. Once you’re at its base, take a left and climb up a small ledge.
Head right, then follow the path to your left once more. You should see two pillars. Run past (not through) these, and you’ll come to a small drop with the gravestone in sight.
Interact with the gravestone, slay Skjothendi the Unerring, and claim your rewards. In addition to the Berserker’s Gauntlets, you’ll also gain Tempered Remnants and Shattered Runes, which are useful resources for upgrading your gear and netting you some more hacksilver.
