Modern Warfare 2 attachment categories
For those familiar with previous iterations of the Gunsmith, Modern Warfare 2's will feature several attachment categories in addition to a brand-new attachment category. Check out the full list of attachment categories below:
- Muzzles
- Barrels
- Optics
- Stocks
- Underbarrels
- Magazines
- Lasers
- Rear Grip
- Ammunition
- Receiver
The last category is new for this year. Receivers belong to specific Weapon Platforms that act as a baseline for a particular group of guns. Unlocking a Reciever unlocks a new weapon that's part of the Platform. All attachments unlocked before earning the Receiver will carry over to the new gun so there's no need to work your way from the bottom.
