Trying to find the best Dual Kodachis loadout in Modern Warfare 3? You've come to the right place. Here, we'll be breaking down the best equipment and perks to bring alongside the Dual Kodachis, to help make this challenging weapon viable. Also, we'll be passing our judgment on whether the Dual Kodachis will stand a chance of breaking into the Modern Warfare 3's meta.
The Dual Kodachis is a set of two blades, which offer one-hit kill potential in multiplayer game modes. Despite their melee nature, the Kodachis have a surprising amount of range, but you'll still find yourself being gunned down more often than not.

What is the best Modern Warfare 3 Dual Kodachis loadout?
In Modern Warfare 2, the Dual Kodachis weren't able to be modified with attachments, so your loadout entirely depends on the secondary weapon you chose to bring. As the Dual Kodachis are strictly melee weapons, you'll want to bring a gun that can compete with medium-ranged engagements at the very least.
We’ll be updating this guide with our thoughts on the best loadout for the Dual Kodachis shortly. Once we've had a chance to play Modern Warfare 3 and experiment with some of the game's secondary weapons, we’ll be providing our top Dual Kodachis loadout. Make sure to check back here later to get our complete thoughts.
Best Modern Warfare 3 Dual Kodachis attachments
In Modern Warfare 3, players have the freedom to significantly alter how their weapon behaves and looks by using the Gunsmith. However, this doesn't apply to the Dual Kodachis; as we stated before, the Dual Kodachis aren’t able to be modified at the Gunsmith.
If the status of the Dual Kodachis’ attachments changes at all, we'll be updating this section with the top attachments for the swords.
Best Modern Warfare 3 Dual Kodachis perks and equipment
Below, we’ve got the best perks and equipment to help you get the most out of the Dual Kodachis in Modern Warfare 3.
Perks
- Vest: Overkill
- Gloves: Ordnance
- Boots: Covert Sneakers
- Gear: Bone Conduction Headset
For your perks, we think that the overkill vest works best with the Dual Kodachis. This is largely down to its improvements to mobility, which you’ll sorely lack with the Dual Kodachis, as well as allowing you to whip out your secondary so you can take ranged fights. Meanwhile, the ordnance gloves will give you more options with your tactical and lethal equipment, giving you another potential avenue of attack.
Additionally, the covert sneakers are widely considered to be the best in Modern Warfare 3, and that remains the case for the Dual Kodachis. These boots muffle all of your player sound, enabling you to live out your ninja fantasy in Modern Warfare 3. Lastly, these shoes pair well with the Bone Conduction Headset, which will increase the volume of enemy movements.
Equipment
- Lethal: Frag Grenade
- Tactical: Flash Grenade
Whilst all of the lethal types of equipment can be used to great effect, we feel that the frag grenade offers the most versatile, yet easy-to-use, option. You'll be able to master the timing and the range of your frag grenade throws with a bit of practice, allowing you to reliably dispatch enemies at a variety of ranges.
Meanwhile, for your tactical equipment, flash grenades are a dynamic and classic piece of utility to bring along. You can use these to ambush enemies, before slicing them down with your Kodachi’s brutal blades.
Is the Modern Warfare 3 Dual Kodachis meta?
It's safe to say that the Dual Kodachis won't become a meta pick any time soon. Whilst the blades excel at short range, you’ll easily be overwhelmed at mid- to long ranges. Therefore, the Dual Kodachis are only really viable if you choose to bring an assault rifle or a submachine gun alongside them.
