Modern Warfare 3 is finally here, and the FJX Imperium falls into the Sniper Rifle category of weapons. It's a bolt-action rifle and is iconic for its brutal quick-scoping one-shot-one-kill damage output. It was originally released during Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2, and weapon progress is due to carry over into Modern Warfare 3.

But before we dive into how best to optimise the FJX Imperium, be sure to check out our Modern Warfare 3 weapons list for every available gun and melee weapon, and as well as that, we have other handy loadout guides for the likes of the TAQ-M, the COR-45, and the Sidewinder.

Best Modern Warfare 3 FJX Imperium attachments

In Modern Warfare 3, you can customise your huge selection of weapons with attachments to change their statistics and play style, courtesy of the gunsmith. With the optimal attachments, the FJX Imperium can be customised to fit a variety of different play styles.

After some testing, this is the very best set of attachments to use on the FJX Imperium:

  • Barrel: Fahrenheit 29"
  • Laser: 1MW Artemis Laser
  • Stock: FJX Kilo-Tac
  • Ammunition: .408 Pace High Grain Rounds
  • Magazine: 7 Round Mag

The Fahrenheit 29" barrel and .408 High Grain Rounds significantly improve damage range and bullet velocity, minimising any drop-off when firing the FJX Imperium at a faraway opponent.

For some additional stability, the 1MW Artemis Laser is an excellent choice, making it much easier to land those tricky shots in the heat of battle. Next is the FJX Kilo-Tac stock for quicker sprint-to-fire, aim-down sight, and sprint speed, giving you every chance to react quickly to any incoming threats.

Best Modern Warfare 3 FJX Imperium perks and equipment

Below we detail what we think would be the best perks and equipment to pair with the FJX Imperium bolt-action sniper rifle, depending on your play style.

Perks

  • Vest: CCT Comms Vest
  • Gloves: Marksman
  • Boots: Stalker
  • Gear: Threat Identification System

We've paired the CCT Comms Vest with the FJX Imperium, as this perk is a team intelligence resource since it increases the time enemies show on radar for you and your teammates. It also makes fallen enemies drop intel packs that can be scooped up by your teammates closer to the fray, and these generate a radar ping for your whole team.

We'd also suggest the Marksman gloves, which reduce sway and flinch while in ADS, as well as the Stalker boots, which increase strafing and ADS speed. Coupled with the Threat Identification System gear, which pings enemy locations while in ADS, you'll be able to headshot your way to a victory with ease.

Equipment

  • Lethal: Breacher Drone
  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade

The Breacher Drone can demolish enemy teams in the hands of a sniper. If you're playing long-range with the FJX Imperium, you likely already know your enemy's location. So deploying this pilotable proximity drone can aid in finishing off a kill or taking out a rez.

The Smoke Grenade can also prove quite useful to a sniper, especially if you've got intel on your enemy's locations with the use of other perks such as the Threat Identification System. You can hide yourself within the cover of smoke and still manage to get some nasty one-shot kills.

Is the Modern Warfare 3 FJX Imperium meta?

There's a strong chance that the FJX Imperium bolt-action sniper rifle could sit quite nicely in the meta upon the game's release, mostly thanks to its massive damage output. But there's always the possibility of a stronger contender once players drop into the fray, such as something like the KATT-AMR.
