Tired of the default voice? If so, you'll want to learn how to change the announcer's voice in Mortal Kombat 1. The latest entry in the long-running fighting series has plenty of guest voices to herald your latest gory battles, but it's not clearly explained how to switch them out.

How to change announcer voice in Mortal Kombat 1
To change the announcer voice in Mortal Kombat 1, you'll first need to head to Settings from the main menu. From there, scroll through the various options on the left until you reach Video & Audio.
On this tab, there's an option halfway through the Audio subsection called Announcer Voice. It's automatically on the default voice, but as you unlock new ones you can scroll left or right using the D-pad to change the announcer.

No need to manually confirm it after - just back out to the main menu and you'll here the newly selected announcer voice in your next fight.
How many announcer voices are there in Mortal Kombat 1?
So far, we know of three guaranteed announcer voices in Mortal Kombat 1, based on what we've played, but there's bound to be a whole lot more.
There's of course the default announcer; the voice fans of the series have grown used to over decades. But most of the main cast of characters also provide voice lines to function as an announcer, but they aren't all unlocked at the start.

Some of them are locked behind DLC packs and separate purchases, like Liu Kang, and likely the Kombat Pack fighters like Homelander and Peacemaker.
However, if you beat a character's main boss version in the new Invasion mode, it appears you unlock them as an announcer voice. At least, that's the case for Johnny Cage, so get ready for plenty of quips if you choose him.
