The Multiversus open beta is in early access right now and it's proving to be really popular. Filled with iconic characters and gameplay that's much like that in Super Smash Bros, it's a lot of fun to learn. If you want to show off your skills, you'll want to play 1v1 in Multiversus, so we have a guide on how exactly to do that.
Like Nintendo's own figher, you can play team matches, against AI, and in larger battles. However, 1v1 is something you'll want to do to really have bragging rights over another player. It may also be a quicker way to level up your battlepass in Multiversus.

How to 1v1 in Multiversus
Thankfully, playing 1v1 in Multiversus is easy for both online and local play.
If you press square on PlayStation (X on Xbox) to Play a game, you then get the chance to choose between a few modes. As you can see in the screenshot below, 1v1 is on the left of the options.
Select that, then choose your character, and you'll be matchmade against one other player. After the game, you'll be able to choose to play a rematch against the same player, if you'd like to.
How to Play 1v1 Local Multiplayer in Multiversus
For a lot of players, playing 1v1 against someone on the same couch as you will be more exciting. Setting up a local 1v1 game up in Multiversus is also a little tougher.
Again, press Square or X to Play. Now, you need to press the shoulder buttons on your controller to tab across to the Custom section.
There, select local play, where you'll be able to add one extra controller as a second player. You'll then be able to play 1v1 by choosing the characters you want to play as and starting the match. It's nice and simple.
Maybe, as the game comes out of beta, more modes and 1v1 options will be added to Multiversus. We'll keep you up to date with any changes that are made.
