A fighting game full of characters from your favourite movies, TV shows, and comic books sounds like a lot of fun, but not every fighter will be available right off the bat in this Warner Bros. brawler. For this guide, we’ll be showing you how to unlock characters in MultiVersus so that you’ll have no shortage of options to choose from when playing the game.
MultiVersus has a ton of different titles to pull from, so the potential for its ever-expanding roster is practically endless. Just at launch, you can already find unexpected crossovers like Arya Stark in an intense swordfight with Adventure Time’s Finn the Human. Even Agent Smith from the Matrix franchise is suiting up to join the fray.
How to Get Characters in MultiVersus
Characters in MultiVersus can be unlocked by purchasing them with either Fighter Currency or Gleamium, both in-game currencies. Unlocking a character with currency in MultiVersus will cost 3,000 Fighter Currency or 1,000 Gleamium each.
Once you’ve saved up enough currency, go to the Fighters tab in the main menu and click on Purchase Fighter after selecting a character.
How to Get Fighter Currency and Gleamium in MultiVersus
Fighter Currency will be the primary source of new characters for free-to-play players as it can be obtained by simply playing the game. On the other hand, Gleamium is purchased with your hard-earned cash, being MultiVersus' premium currency.
It’s entirely possible to unlock all of your favorite characters in MultiVersus without spending any money, but it will take some time. The biggest benefit that Gleamium has to offer is that it lets you bypass the grind and play new fighters right away.
MultiVersus Free Starting Characters
Shaggy is that starting character that every player will have unlocked right away while others such as Banana Guard can be obtained as login rewards or through events.
On top of that, players will also get free access to four other characters for a limited period. These free characters will rotate over time, so you’ll still need to purchase them with Fighter Currency or Gleamium if you want permanent access.
And that’s all you need to know about unlocking characters in MultiVersus. If you’re only interested in unlocking the very best fighters to carry you throughout the season, then our MultiVersus tier list can help you pick who to unlock next.
