Excited for the NBA 2K23 demo? While there may not be a pre-release prelude like previous years, there's still a good chance that you'll be able to preview the game for free after it launches. That's always a good way to test it out if you're yet to buy it, so details on the demo can be crucial.

In this NBA 2K23 guide, we'll break down everything you need to know about the demo. That includes speculation on when it could release, as well as the modes it'll likely include and platforms it should come out on.

Elsewhere, feel free to read up on FIFA 23 prior to its release. We've got our predicted player ratings for the year, alongside a look at when you can expect the web app to finally come out. The beta is live now, so you can get a few matches in early!

NBA 2K23 demo release date speculation

As of right now, we don't have a release date for the NBA 2K23 demo. One thing for certain is that it won't arrive prior to the game's launch on September 8, 2022.

Instead, the likelihood is that the NBA 2K23 demo will release at some point after the base game initially launches. That goes against the previous trend of NBA 2K demos, however, their history is a fairly muddled one, so strap in.

The most recent game to receive a demo was NBA 2K21. That demo launched on August 24, 2020. That was just a few weeks prior to its wider release on September 4, 2020. There wasn't a demo for NBA 2K22, which means there may not even be one for this latest entry.

As such, it's really hard to say if we'll ever get a release date for the NBA 2K23 demo, since we don't even know if one will come out. If last year's game is anything to go off, the chances are slim.

What platforms will the NBA 2K23 demo be on?

If an NBA 2K23 demo does come out - and that in itself is an if - then it'll likely release on all the platforms that the base game will be on. That ensures players on all platforms are able to test it out, to see whether they want to spend their cash or not.

For reference, those platforms are PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Keep an eye on those storefronts to see whether a demo crops up. As mentioned though, the chances aren't high.

What will be included in the NBA 2K23 demo?

We can take a look at the most recent demo in the series, for NBA 2K21, to get a taste of what may be included in any demo for NBA 2K23.

First and foremost, the only way to play matches in that demo was with two specific teams: the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers. Alongside playing matches with either of those teams, you could also create a player with MyPLAYER Builder as a fun aside. Other than that though, the demo didn't contain much else.

Therefore, if an NBA 2K23 demo does arrive, it'll likely give you a very limited chance to try out matches with just a few select teams. Either way, it'll be enough of a snippet for you to get a feel for the game and decide whether it's worth buying.

That's it for our look at the NBA 2K23 demo! We'll update this guide as we learn more, but don't hold your breath for it to release any time soon. For more on the game, feel free to read up on whether the game has crossplay, as well as if you can get early access.
