Octopath Traveler 2 is almost here, and Square Enix has started revealing details about the eight distinct characters whose routes you can travel in the lead-up to this brand-new adventure. Therefore, an Octopath Traveler 2 characters list is in high demand.

The Octopath Traveler 2 reveal trailer gave us a taste of what each of the characters would contribute to the game. The eight characters' identities and types of jobs were effectively revealed in the video, but little else was said about what we can anticipate encountering along the way, or how their skills will function in combat.

A character that is currently being described is Hikari Ku, who is voiced by Howard Wang. His story starts in the Hinoeuma desert and he's the younger prince of Ku. Unfortunately, his country is constantly at war, so he desperately wants to put an end to the bloodshed.

Hikari can combat NPCs throughout the overworld thanks to his day path action, Challenge. Alternatively, he can use his night path action of Bribe to exchange money for information. His Talent also includes mastering abilities by outdueling residents of the town. His final Latent Power is Shadow Hold, which allows him to access unique abilities by using darkness.

The Dancer, Agnea Bristarni, performed by Xanthe Huynh, is another notable character. The Leaflands, an especially lush location, is where her tale begins. She is a passionate dreamer who aspires to succeed.

Agnea's day path action, Allure, enables her to compel people to join her in battle. If the level is sufficiently high enough she can also obtain things from people with her night route action, Entreat. Furthermore, depending on whose allured supporters are present, her Talent, Dance Session, causes a range of advantageous effects to allies. She holds the latent power All Together Now, which expands the application of skills to everybody.

Jas Patrick's character Partitio starts his voyage in the Wildlands, wherein he sees the effects of poverty on his homeland. He then clarifies his intention of spreading prosperity through trade among all people. Purchase is Partitio's daytime route action, and Hire is his nighttime path action. With the former, he can purchase goods from locals, and with the latter, he can hire combatants as allies.

Additionally, his Talent, Business Partners, may lead to store discounts, free items, increased cash obtained when selling, and a reduction in the number of resources needed for battle skills. Last but not least, he has the latent power Hoot and Holler, which enables him to entirely restore a party member's BP.

Osvald the Scholar

Alejandro Saab's character Osvald, who is imprisoned for life in the Winterlands for being accused of killing his spouse and daughter, starts his trip there. He has been imprisoned for 1,879 days. It makes sense that Osvald would want revenge. Scrutinize is Osvald's path action during the day, and Mug is his path action at night. The former enables him to covertly collect intelligence in towns when he has the chance, but if he fails, his reputation will suffer. Mug is self-explanatory: if Osvald prevails, he fights townspeople to claim their spoils.

Study Foe is one of Osvald's talents, and it's maybe the most useful. As soon as a conflict starts, he will instantly scan an enemy's affinities to tell players of their vulnerabilities and resistances. Last but not least, Osvald may concentrate a spell that would normally have several targets into a remarkably effective single-target spell using his latent power Concentrate Spells.

The story of Throné Anguis, a thief, is introduced in the Brightlands, and is voiced by Erica Mendez. She is a part of the Black Snakes, a group of masked robbers who rule the city. Thus, Throné frequently commits robberies and murders. She sets off on a voyage in search of freedom because she longs to leave her chained life.

Throné's daylight Path Action is Steal, allowing her to do the evident to townsfolk with a chance to fail. The latter will damage your reputation and prevent you from using your Path Action. The likelihood of success will increase as Throné's level is raised. On the contrary, her nighttime Path Action includes Ambush, allowing her to knock anyone in her path unconscious if they get in the way.

When she engages in combat at night, her battle talent Blessing of Darkness instantly activates, increasing allies' physical attack, elemental attack, as well as speed. Last but not least, if the gauge is full her latent power Leave No Trace allows her to strike twice in a single turn.

Temenos the Cleric

Jordan Dash Cruz provides the cleric's voice as Temenos Mistral. His story starts in the Crestlands, a hilly area. He is a laid-back inquisitor who eventually finds himself dealing with a naturally altered status quo after an unidentified tragic catastrophe takes place in the Church. In order to uncover the mysteries left behind, he embarks on a quest.

Temenos' path action during the day is Guide, allowing him to lead a townie about if his level is high enough, to help him in battle. He can also use Coerce, his nighttime Path Action, to force an opponent to reveal information by reducing their Shield Points to 0. The only thing needed in this situation is to exploit weaknesses, not to win.

Moonlight Judgment, another of Temenos' talents, automatically activates during nighttime combat, rendering enemies blind and weakening their physical and elemental protections. Judgment is his final Latent Power, and if the gauge is full it causes any attack to diminish an enemy's Shield Points.

Ochette, performed by Suzie Yeung, is a hunter who lives with other Beastlings on the island of Toto'haha. Ochette's daylight Path Action is Provoke, which enables her to unleash a monster loose on a civilian and start a fight. If you win, you'll knock your opponent out cold, but if you lose your reputation will take a beating and you won't be able to employ any Path Actions.

Ochette's alternative night Path Action is called Befriend, which entices a townie to travel with the group. Ochette has the passive monster capture ability Capture & Prepare as part of her battle talent. Reduced enemy health, revealed weaknesses, status diseases, and an actively broken state all increase the success rate.

An apothecary named Castti Florenz, performed by Sarah Weidenheft, starts her story in the harbour city of Harborlands. She awakens with no memory of who she is, with her aptitude as an apothecary and the bag she carries is her sole identifiers. She naturally embarks on a trip to find out who she is as a result.

Castii's day Path Action is Inquire which, if her level is sufficiently high enough, enables her to ask locals for information. As an alternative, her Path Action at night is Soothe, easing the pain of distressed citizens and promoting tranquil sleep. However, certain goods are required for treatment, and the kind depends on the patient.
