Looking for details on the OD release date? We can help you out with that and more as we share everything we know about the new project from Kojima Productions.

Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions are household names among gamers. The developer is always looking for innovations in how games are presented and it looks like that is exactly the goal for OD.

For a little taste of what to expect from Kojima and his team, feel free to check out some of his other titles like Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid.

OD release date

There’s no word yet on when OD will be released. It could likely be a while before the game launches since we know that Kojima Productions is also currently working on Death Stranding 2.

Keep your eyes peeled, however, as we’ll be sure to update this section once we have more information on Hideo Kojima's immersive and entirely unique creation.

OD platforms

The platforms for OD haven’t been revealed just yet, but it’s safe to assume that the game is coming to Xbox consoles. Xbox Game Studios is publishing the game, after all.

That being said, Death Stranding was a PlayStation exclusive that eventually found its way to PC, so there is a possibility OD will eventually come to all of these platforms. We'll keep this article updated with any news on the available platforms when we have new information.

OD cast

Hideo Kojima likes to give his games a cinematic feel, so what better way to do that than to include some established actors in its cast? Here’s a list of names that are confirmed to be in OD:

  • Sophia Lillis
  • Hunter Schafer
  • Udo Kier

Director and comedian Jordan Peele is also part of the OD project, but how he is involved has yet to be revealed. We imagine it would be in some sort of directorial capacity, or perhaps as a producer, but given Peele's Midas touch when it comes to the horror genre, we're sure it's going to be a match made in spooky, unsettling heaven.

An announcement trailer for OD was shown at The Game Awards 2023. It was quite odd and unsettling in the most intriguing way possible, as is the way with most of Hideo Kojima's projects. Check it out for yourself below:

OD Gameplay

As captivating as the OD announcement trailer is, we did not get a single second of gameplay footage. That’s quite understandable since there’s a good chance that the game is still in the early stages of development.

What we do know is that in an interview during the 2023 Game Awards, Hideo Kojima stated that OD is a game, a movie, and a completely new form of media. At this point, only time will tell what this new project will look like.

And that’s everything we know about Hideo Kojima’s OD. We’ll be updating this page as new information on the game comes out so make sure to check back in with us every once in a while.
