Tons of new information has just come out on the Overwatch 2 battle pass. As well as being a way to unlock cosmetics, there is quite a lot going on in Overwatch 2. Here's everything you need to know, and why you'll want to work your way through this particular system.

Overwatch 2 battle pass explained
Overwatch 2 is entirely free to play for everyone, regardless of your platform, and everyone has access to the battle pass. However, to get all of the rewards listed, you'll need to pay for them. It'll cost 1,000 Overwatch coins, which is around ~$10. The premium pass will likely need to be bought again when the new season rolls around.
The first Overwatch 2 battle pass will be available from launch. Spread out over 80+ tiers, here's what you can get for free:
- Newest support hero, Kiriko (instant unlock for returning Overwatch players; available on the free and premium Battle Pass for new players)
- 2 Epic Skins
- 1 Weapon Charm
- 2 Souvenirs
- 1 Highlight Intro
- 14 additional items (emotes, victory poses, name cards, sprays, player icons, etc.)
- Prestige Tier Titles (8 earnable titles available only after completing the entire pass)
If you purchase the premium battle pass, you will get the following, alongside the free items:
- Immediate access to Kiriko
- 20% XP Battle Pass Boost
- 1 Mythic Skin
- 5 Legendary Skins and 1 Epic Skin
- 3 Play of the Game Intros
- 4 Weapon Charms
- 3 Emotes
- 3 Souvenirs
- 6 Poses
- 6 Name Cards
- 30+ additional cosmetic rewards
When is the next Overwatch 2 battle pass?
Season 1 is due to finish around the start of December and the next Overwatch 2 battle pass will go live on December 6. Alongside this, players will find a new map, 30+ new skins, a new tank hero, as well as a mythic skin. Assuming this happens, we can see a new battle pass going live every two months.
