How To Unlock The Hideout

The Hideout in Path of Exile 2 is where you'll likely spend much of your leisure time crafting, organizing your loot, or simply enjoying the comfort of your personal space.

But you'll need to unlock it before you can start customizing it. Thankfully, getting your hands on your own Hideout isn’t too hard.

This guide will walk you through how to unlock it, make it your own, and set up everything you need for the endgame.

How To Unlock The Hideout

Once you finish the main storyline in Path of Exile 2, you can unlock the Hideout.

When you finish the main questline, which wraps up with the Legacy of the Vaal, you’ll head to the Vaal Ziggurat.

Doryani’s here to show you the Atlas of Worlds, PoE 2's endgame system.

This is when you can unlock your Hideout, but you’ll need to do a few more things before you can get in.

As soon as you're in the Atlas of Worlds, you'll notice map nodes marked with a blue fleur-de-lis.

These icons point to possible Hideout sites dispersed throughout the Atlas.

To get into your Hideout, pick a node and use a Waystone.

The first Hideout node is simple enough, with low-level foes. Once you finish off the enemies, your private area is all yours.

Unlike in the past, you can unlock a Hideout much earlier—some players can even do so in Act 2.

You don’t have to stay in one place, but completing the objectives locks the area.

Knock out the enemies in the node, or the area will reset, and you’ll still be locked out of the Hideout. When it's unlocked, you can just pop over to your Hideout.

To return to it, open the World Map screen (press U on PC) and click on the Hideout tab below the Underground Map icon.

From there, you can check out your new Hideout or any others you’ve unlocked by taking over more nodes.

Having your first Hideout is nice, but you might want to change the scenery after a while.

Fortunately, the more you explore the Atlas, the more Hideout tilesets you can unlock.

Four tilesets are currently available: the Canal Hideout, the Felled Hideout, the Limestone Hideout, and the Shrine Hideout.

You can switch between them by speaking to Alva, the NPC handling Hideout changes.

She provides the option to Select Hideout, letting you choose a new map and layout for your base.

The customization options in your Hideout are one of its most thrilling aspects.

Once inside your Hideout, click the small arrow icon at the bottom of the screen to access the layout editing feature.

You can adjust, rotate, and move everything in your Hideout, including NPCs, crafting stations, and decor.

You can organize your Hideout to place important NPCs, such as Doryani (for item identification) and Ketzuli (for disenchanting), near frequently used stations, such as the crafting benches.

This reduces the need to cross the Hideout, giving you more time to do other things.

You can easily import and export Hideout designs to reuse your favorite layouts whenever you want.

As you level up in the game, you'll get more decorations, NPCs, and crafting stations to fill your space.

As new options appear in updates, you might want to play around with different Hideout designs.

If you're in a guild, you can also use the Guild Hideout, but it's not the same as your personal one.

You can access this guild-related Hideout earlier by clicking the Guild Hideout button on the map screen.
