Hailing from the second generation of Pokemon, Cyndaquil is a great starter, giving you access to fire moves early on and a strong Pokemon that can power you through to the end of the game. It's a Pokemon worth committing some time to if you can get it early.

How to get Cyndaquil in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
If you're looking to get Cyndaquil in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are a few different ways we imagine you could do so.
First, it may be a reward for playing previous games. This means that if you have a save file for Pokemon Legends Arceus, Shining Pearl, or Brilliant Diamond, you may simply be given it as a gift from the main menu or from an NPC in one of the early towns.
We already know you'll be able to get different Rotom phone cases by visiting an NPC around two hours into the game with different save data on your device. Because Cyndaquil appeared as a starter in Pokemon Legends Arceus - a compatible game - that same NPC could give you one for having played that game.
If this doesn't happen, it could just be a Pokemon you find in the game. Starters are usually very rare Pokemon seldom found in the wild, but they're often given as rewards for beating the Elite 4 once the credits roll.
We'll update you here when we find out the exact details.
What level does Cyndaquill evolve?
At level 14, Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava. It then evolves from Quilava into Typhlosion at level 36. Generally, this gives it better stats and a bigger move pool, but it will leave some of those moves later than it would its earlier forms.
