The upcoming release of Redfall is right on the horizon and players are getting ready to gear up as their character of choice to take on the blood-sucking vampires terrorising humanity. While some details regarding the gameplay have been shared, through first-hand looks like those in our Redfall preview, many are still unknown. If you are interested in playing the game this May, then you are likely also interested in knowing more about all of the Redfall characters and their classes.

Thankfully, we already know a good bit about the game's four heroes and what they bring to the table. The game seems as though it has worked to seriously flesh out its vampire hunters, from the characters' backgrounds to their abilities during gameplay.

Information regarding both the past and present of each hero has been revealed. If you want to know more about all of the Redfall characters, read on below to learn about their unique classes, abilities, and more.

All Redfall Characters and Classes

There are four characters that make up Redfall's fearsome foursome, and they range everywhere from a guy who specialises in long-ranged combat to a student coming to terms with the post-apocalyptic world. Each hero comes together to form an unstoppable team, making for an action-packed co-op experience.

Dev is an interesting character as he is a 'cryptozoology' expert. He basically specialises in cryptid studies, meaning that he spends his time pursuing the likes of Sasquatch. In terms of class and gameplay, Dev has an array of weapons that he himself invented.

These weapons include special anti-vampire items, like staffs that emit ultraviolet rays to turn the creatures into ash. If you like to craft and upgrade, Dev seems like a good pick. His unique weapons should also prove to be especially useful against mobs.

Jacob makes use of a rifle to employ long-range attacks against the vampires. Prior to the spread of the cultists, he was a member of the Special Forces and was a particularly good sniper.

This translates into the game with his precise targeting skills and abilities that are specific to his background. If you like to take enemies down from afar, Jacob will likely prove to be your pick of hero.

Layla Ellison

Layla is unique since she had more humble beginnings as a biomedical engineering student. Suffering from student debt, she decided to volunteer for a clinical trial that could earn her quick money. In the midst of the trial, Layla was knocked unconscious and awoke after the vampires had attacked.

Her abilities stand out as she has a purple telekinetic power that allows her to manipulate the world around her. She can move objects, create shields, and charge blasts at enemies. Layla can also use her telekinesis to reload weapons. If you want a more powerful, stand-out character, Layla is a good choice.

Remi was an engineer specialising in robotics for the Coast Guard. In Redfall, she makes use of her robotic skills by utilising robot companions during combat.

She is accompanied by Bribon, a robot whose name translates to 'rascal' in Spanish. Remi can use Bribon as a distraction or as help on the offence while fighting. Players who value planning and stealth could make good use of Remi.

That is all we know about the Redfall characters, and it will hopefully be enough information to help guide your decision when the game releases in May. Each of the heroes uses their own unique class of weapons, and you can find out more about the Redfall weapons to learn more. Until the game's drop, you can also read about Redfall pre-order bonuses and how to claim them if you have grabbed a copy already.
