Will the Resident Evil 4 remake have a first person mode?
Sadly, according to the game’s screenshots and trailers, the Resident Evil 4 remake will only have the third person camera mode. The original game also had only a third person mode, and the remake will follow this rule. However, we have remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, and in both of them, the camera perspective is slightly from the original games.
If you are an old-school fan of the Resident Evil franchise then you probably remember what the camera mode looked like in the first games of the series. Usually, your camera was placed in a certain corner and it looked like you were watching your protagonist through a surveillance camera.

Such a camera mode was typical for Resident Evil games until Resident Evil 4, when the developers introduced the classic third person camera perspective. The success of Resident Evil 4 was a reason for the next games in the franchise to fix the camera behind the protagonist’s back.
In Resident Evil 7, Capcom introduced a first person mode, and now it seems like a new standard for the franchise's new core entries. However, remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 have only the third person mode similar to the one from Resident Evil 4. Of course, this camera mode is not the same as the one in the original games, so some fans hoped that Resident Evil 4 remake would also change its camera perspective, but this time to the first person one.
Regardless of these wishes, it seems that the remake sticks to the original camera mode and there won’t be any significant changes. If you are looking for more information about this game, make sure to check our guide on whether or not Resident Evil 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch.
