After years of being in Early Access, SCUM has officially been released on Steam in v1.0. While this means more updates are coming, this is now a complete game that anyone can purchase and try. It’s definitely an interesting survival game that has some fun mechanics and a pretty gross sense of humor.
Now that it’s become a huge talking point on PC, fans are wondering if SCUM will be coming to consoles. Survival games have found a home in consoles as of late, though PC remains the king for this genre. It would also make the game more readily available to other players, which is the end goal.
Is SCUM Coming to Consoles?
Yes, a SCUM console release was discussed as far back as 2023, when the game was still in Early Access. At the time, it was said that this game would come out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Expect the devs to limit that to PS5 and Xbox Series.
The original plan was to bring this game to consoles later this year, assuming that nothing goes wrong. Since the game is at 1.0, there’s a good chance that we could get the console release sometime this year. However, it could also lead to another delay, since the company is trying to stabilize the current release and fix any serious bugs they find.
An announcement for consoles could be coming soon, but fans just have to be patient.
Will SCUM Come Out on Switch 2?
No plans have been announced yet, though we assume the game is too crude for Nintendo’s tastes. Then again, GTA finally arrived on the original Switch a few years ago, so something could happen.
Getting SCUM on a handheld could be fun, especially with native controls. At the time of writing, it’s still not a perfect experience on Steam Deck, as the game doesn’t support controllers yet. When the game eventually comes to consoles, we’re sure the devs will show interest in porting this game to Switch 2.
So far, that’s everything we know about SCUM coming to consoles.
