How to get Doubloons in Sea of Thieves fast
Besides Gold and Doubloons, you also have Ancient Coins in Sea of Thieves, which is a premium currency. Doubloons are recognisable by their blue colour. Previously, the only way to obtain Doubloons was through Bilge Rat adventures, but there are more ways to get them now.
Here are the ways you can get more Doubloons in Sea of Thieves:
- Bilge Rat Adventures: Head over to the Reputation tab in the menu and hit up the Bilge Rat tile. Look for adventures marked with a cool blue Doubloons icon, as those are the ones that reward Doubloons.
- Reaper's Chests: These pop up randomly around the seas, so you'll need to keep an eye out for them. Alternatively, you can follow maps of Skeleton Captains. You'll know they're close by their flashy lights or that ominous Reaper's mark on your map. Duke or Stitcher Jim will give you 25 Doubloons for them.
- Ritual Skulls: You'll find some creepy skulls scattered about as you're exploring, which you can cash in with Duke for 10 Doubloons each.
- Rag and Bone Crates: Introduced with the Smuggler's Fortune update, Rag and Bone crates can be delivered to Seaposts for 5 Doubloons each. Keep an eye peeled for these crates during your voyages.
- Gifts: If you stumble upon some washed-up gifts during the Season of Plenty, deliver them to the masked stranger on Reaper's Hideout for 5-10 Doubloons.
- Ashen Items: Get hunting for those Ashen skeleton captains. They drop chests and keys. You can crack open the chests with the keys and sell the loot to Stitcher Jim. Bonus: sell the keys themselves for extra Doubloons.
Once you've accumulated some Doubloons, visit Duke the Bilge Rat in any Tavern to spend them on exclusive ship cosmetics, weapons, and clothing. Keep in mind that doubloons offer access to limited-time items, so spend them wisely.
